its going to be hella mad at publix tonight. I almost don't want to go. At least the rush makes everything go by rather quickly. I BETTER NOT BE STUCK ON EXPRESS OR HEADS WILL ROLL.
I've decided that the Asmat have the ideal religion and will now become a head hunting, ancestor worshipping, psychedelic smoking, black man with a little penis who carves his brothers into trees. Anybody else with me?
It's sad really. We watched a video on the asmat today in anthropology, and their culture is just being destroyed by christian missionaries. It's disgusting really how ethnocentrism has such debilitating effects on societies. Yeah, God is great, but really, they were happy with their own kind of worship. Now their society could very well fall into ruins, and as a people they will die out. Missionaries needn't impose their views on this little group of indigenous people. It's just pathetic.
Funny. America is doing the same thing to the Islamic world, yet I don't have such grave sentiments. Maybe it's because the Asmat didn't degrade women . . or stone women for showing an ankle or calf . . or maybe it's because they never conquered North Africa and imposed their views on all the people as well.
