I'm at LBI. It happens every year. This year really isn't much different. One may note though, that I have internet access while I'm down here, which, while it seriously cuts into the time I devote to reading, is wonderful as I don't feel completely trapped in this small (yet admittedly lovely) beach house.
Yesterday Carolyn and Jess came down and to visit me here, which was lovely. We sat on the beach and caught up and bitched as we are wont to do, then we went to the park by the Lighthouse and I took many, many pictures of them. It was a very enjoyable day and I wish they could have stayed longer. I really do miss them; I had gotten used to not seeing Jess as she was in France this whole semester, but I saw Carolyn more or less every day this year. I am most certainly not used to, not only not seeing her, but also not speaking to her for long periods at a time as our schedules really don't match up.
Today, after sleeping for 12 hours and reading outside for a spell, my family finally decided to go somewhere. As it had started to rain, we went to Barnegat Light, climbed to the top, and then my brothers, having completely outdone themselves in terms of physical activity, returned to the house. My dad and I then went for a nice long walk on the beach - arguably the highlight of my day. We then returned to the house and then later went for dinner at Scojo's, this diner-esque establishment that is more or less the only reasonably-priced restaurant that's open for dinner on our end of the island. This is also the site of incident where Adam was nearly assaulted by those old people last year.
Yes. I'm so bored that I've resorted to recounting the mundane events of my days here at LBI.
