Car troubles and Playgroups

Well, yesterday my van starting "steaming" or "smoking" from under the hood. Not good, right? It wasn't very much so it doesn't seem like it's a big deal. We've figured out what it is, we think. There is probably a leak from a hose with the coolant and it's dripping onto the engine and thus, the smoke when it gets hot enough. It's not overheating yet, which is good so it's not a major leak. Hopefully we'll be able to find a good place to get it fixed asap. Too bad we can't just go buy me a brand new Toyota Sienna van with power doors, a working CD player, power locks that all work, no chipped paint, no leaks in the hoses, and a DVD player. Yes, that would be heaven. However, as much as we would love to do that we are still digging ourselves out of some lovely holes we've gotten ourselves into so there's not money to spare for a new car. We're really hoping by next year. On the other hand, I could just get my rear in gear and earn my first car from Mary Kay!!!!! That will be so awesome! Then I can take the cash option instead of the Vibe and buy my new van (with power everything and a DVD player). :)

Taking a completely different direction here, we had our first Fossil Ridge ward playgroup this morning. It was really great. I'm so excited to get to know all the moms that I see in the halls at church, but don't have a chance to talk with much. The kids had a blast and the moms had fun getting to know each other. I was even able to get a couple suggestions for good mechanics in the area. I volunteered to host next week so I have to clean my house. Yes, I did it specifically to kick me into gear and clean up and get organized. I have one week...will it be enough?! LOL! It will be fun to have everyone over here. If it's nice, though, like it is today (70 degrees and sunny!!!!!!!!!) then we will meet at our little park up the street and let the kids play outside. Unfortunately, it is supposed to get back down into the 40s by Thursday and be rainy for the weekend. We have had such a not-typical Texas winter. Usually there is one bout of ice or snow and everything shuts down for a day and that's it. This endless cold is really getting to everyone. I must say, though, that I am very happy not to be up in the midwest today! It is dangerously cold up there.

So, those are my thoughts today. Not very exciting, but this is my life. ;)
