Brief History
Teaching is information output and input.
Even if there are only two people remaining in this world.
There will still be something new to be learnt.
Adeline was in her mother’s womb when her parents made the move from China to Canada. Having secured their positions as professional musicians, both of her parents were hired by Vancouver music faculties for teaching and performing positions. It was late November when Adeline was born. She likes to joke that she heard music before her parents’ voices.
Ever since a young age, her parents have encouraged her to find her own musical outlet. Even though she’s picked up a thing or two of piano and violin (respective instruments of her father and mother), it was through dancing that she found her creativity. From ballet to street dancing, Adeline made sure to try her body at each one.
She did not attend a public school like most teenagers her age. Instead, she went to a girls-only, private high school that seemed to have been a wall between her and the outside world. In there, she focused on her studies but because of her personality, did not make many friends. Here, please note that acquaintances and friends are different. Even though she had many of the former, she had a rare few latter.
In university, she studied a double major of art history and economics. This does not mean that she ever forgot about dancing; it was more of a personal outlet for her than a subject to be scrutinized. After graduation, she shuffled off to teacher’s college and during her year of studying, she gave serious thought to what her future work place would be like. Vancouver was beautiful, but she wanted to be somewhere else; somewhere she hadn’t been.
Hawaii came as a most pleasant surprise and one that Adeline was very eager to take.
Now, this is her third year working in James Campbell High. You can say that she is familiar with the current staff and proceedings, but she does not lie when she says there are always new things she’s learning every day.
Personality
By appearance alone, one would conclude that Adeline belongs to the soft spoken and well mannered categories. And thankfully (maybe?) such conclusions are not far from the truth. Her parents (pianist and violinist) raised her to be artistically inclined and always have an open mind. It was in such accordance that Adeline went on to complete a bachelors of arts in art history and economics. Often, you can find her with a smile and a mild temper; but always ready to assist you. This willingness and inclination to help urged her to teacher’s college and the completion of her certificate.
In front of strangers, Adeline is somewhat shy but polite. She strives to make any situation comfortable for all involved and tries her best to be considerate to others’ feelings. Once she gets to know you, she is playful and likes to jest often; perhaps even pull a little (harmless, of course) prank or two.
As a teacher, she is patient but strict. Adeline strongly believes that anything is possible as long as you try. Therefore, she encourages all of her students to give their best and sometimes may even go out of her way to assist them with their problems; be they academic, physical or personal.
However, please do not let her demure appearance and way of speaking fool you. If provoked, Adeline is not afraid to showcase her temper. In moments of anger, she is stubborn and will stand her ground firmly. Even though she has never been involved in any physical fights, but there is always a time for firsts. (Perhaps not at her work place though!) She isn’t afraid to speak her mind or stand up for herself and other people if need be.
Despite her well read nature, Adeline is somewhat dense when it comes to interactions. It doesn’t matter whether you like her or hate her; she will still do all that is required because she most likely does not realize those feelings. She does not like vague answers when asking questions; it’s safe to say that she prefers everything to be spelt out clearly, leaving no room for grey areas or ambiguities.
She absolutely loves books, music, art, and animals. On the other hand, she absolutely hates discrimination and players.
