As far as holidays went, Sulu enjoyed Christmas the most. It wasn't the ancient beginning of the holiday, or the gift-giving, or even the decorations and massive Christmas parties (though they were always entertaining); it was more just the general upbeat rush of emotions that took people over during the season. It was strange how, even on the Enterprise, the crew managed to get into the spirit of the holiday, but it was definitely something he could live with.
Bridge duty hadn't been nearly as tedious as some of the shifts this last month or so had been, and Sulu chalked it up to the fact that everyone was feeling good on Christmas day and the fact that Ianto seemed to be doing better with every day that passed. It was uplifting, really.
Humming one of the older Christmas carols he knew, Sulu made his way from the bridge back to his cabin, figuring he could take a little time to unwind and get changed into something a little more 21st century, then give Ianto a call and see if he wanted to get together. He had presents to get to Cardiff and, more importantly, he wanted to spend some time with Ianto - and probably Jack, as he hadn't really talked to him recently, really.
It was as he rounded the bend in the hall that he realized someone was waiting for him outside his cabin, and he slowed his pace slightly until he realized that someone was Ianto. With a pleasantly surprised smile on his face, he approached the other man, raising an eyebrow. "Ianto? What's up?" He would've been worried, but Ianto didn't look upset, so...
