Old fic haunts me.

So, back when I was, oh I don't know, 13 or so, like all the other fanfiction.net writers, I wrote my fair share of fic. And posted it to ff.net. And since have become exceedingly embarrassed by it and therefore haven't connected it to anything else I've posted on LJ, Tumblr, or various other sites like so. Wait that's a lie, I did post one fic to LJ that was cross-posted to ff.net, but that was quite a while ago and was honestly probably the last thing I've ever written.

ANYWAY. My fic haunts me to this day. Why? Because occasionally I'll get email notifications that someone has either favorited my story or added me to their author watch list. To the first, I laugh. To the second, I raise a skeptical eyebrow. I mean, it's pretty clear that I haven't posted anything to that account for a good five years or more. Why would they add me to their author watch list?

It's sort of sweet that someone likes what I've written in my past. And for the most part, the stories that get favorited are the ones that I wrote most recently. But some of that other stuff? Ugh. If I didn't think it would use up energy I'd rather spend elsewhere, I'd go through and either delete my old stuff or rework it a bit.

For the most part, though, unless I get those notifications (I got one today, hence what spawned this post), I usually completely forget about my ff.net stuff. It belongs in the ether of forgotten things.

In other news, The Mentalist season finale is tonight and I'm excited. RED JOHN. But I also have a German test which, for some reason my tutor is REALLY EXCITED to give me (which makes me worried), and I have dance class. Booo. I'd rather go outside and ride my bike because it's finally, finally sunny and spring-like and warm today.
