Confession time! And nostalgia.

So one of my very earliest fandoms, aside from Harry Potter because that's like the mother of all original fandoms - seeing as I read my first HP fanfic with my best friend when I was 10 years old and neither of us had any idea what it was, haha, oh the old days - was the Fake News Fandoms. Specifically The Daily Show, and to a slightly smaller extent The Colbert Report. The TDS/TCR fandom is where I first discovered Anderson Cooper (yes, I discovered him in the TDS/TCR fandom, not on, oh, the actual real news), slash fanfic, my ability to stay up until 3 or 4 in the morning while still getting up at 7, Mean Fangirls, and the oh-so-special brand of fangirl that the Supernatural fandom thinks it created: The Crazy Fangirl. I'm sorry, but there were batshit insane fangirls in the fake news fandom long before there were in the Supernatural fandom.

ANYWAY. I haven't set foot in a TDS/TCR community for quite a while, and aside from keeping a very casual eye on the episodes themselves haven't had much to do with fake news period. But the other day, I found myself really missing it. It all started with a video I'm sure most, if not all, of you have seen already:

Note: I watched this video while really drunk on St. Patrick's Day at my best friend's apartment in Boston. Trust me, that made it so much better. Haha.

Which then spawned this:

Which then intensified my cravings for good ol' Stewart-and-Colbert clips and light-hearted gossip.

The universe heard my prayer, and di_br posted this epic post, to the totally awesome community fandom_picspams. Essentially, it's just as the title claims: a picspam of epic, bromancy moments between Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. But not only is it a picspam! Oh no. She went to the trouble of coding the entire picspam to also link to the clips/videos she was referencing. Something that I'm sure took, like, hours to do. Part I of this epicness was posted here, in which she focused just on the Stewart/Colbert "tosses" in which Jon Stewart closed The Daily Show by checking in via satellite with Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report. They only do them rarely nowadays, which is a pity, because that was practically the best part of the night.

Seriously, if I'd had hills to run through that were alive with the sound of music, I would have when I saw these posts. I freaking love those men SO HARD. And those picspams and videos show exactly why. They are so smart and clever and hilarious and bromantic it's so freaking adorable I can't wrap my head around it.

Even if you don't watch any other videos on that list, watch this one. It's hands-down Stephen Colbert's best, shining moment on The Daily Show. :D :D

On a not entirely unrelated note, I've also been craving Life, the cop show that stole my heart and the got freaking canceled. So if the universe is listening and someone wants to make something epically Life related, I'd be all for that.

On a slightly more unrelated note, when I was typing "on a not entirely unrelated note" up in the previous paragraph, I typed, "on a not unetirely related" at first. I am clearly a master at the English language and all should bow down before me.
