Ugh, I need to stop reading Supernatural episode reactions (the meta-y ones, not the play-by-play/more squee-ish ones). Most of the time, they just end up ruining my perspective on things that I thought were good. A bunch also just sound like the authors have sticks up their butts that the show isn't going exactly in the direction that THEY wanted it to go.
For example:
Why are people flipping out of Crowley's line about Brady being Sam's "demon lover"? To me, it pretty much just sounded like a snarky line that would be completely in character for Crowley and not really mean anything. Instead, people are either saying it's a "fanservice" or that it's first canonical evidence of Sam's Stanford experimentation. I say what-the-fuck-ever. Keep fanfic fanfic and canon canon. I'm a peppy cheerleader for both - trust me - as long as they stay to themselves.
Why are people being so pissy about Bobby getting his ability to walk back? Again with the whole "fanservice" thing that people are saying it is. I think it was kind of sweet. A little heavily emphasized for the amount of things that had/have yet to be covered, but c'mon...the man just got his ability to walk back after not having it for a very long time. Oh! That reminds me. In The Curious Case of Dean Winchester, Bobby drove the van to whatever town the boys were in. I've always wondered how he did that if he was paralyzed from the waste down. I guess it was magic.
Why are people making such a big deal about characters supposedly traveling ridiculous distances in ridiculous amounts of time? This week's complaint: Castiel showing up at the nursing home after being (no one knows exactly where but are guessing Louisiana based on his comments). Okay, yes, I'll admit that it was fishy, but sometimes when people complain about such things I want to just kind of yell at them that no where in the episodes do the characters talking about the impossible like, "man, it just took us 10 hours to drive from Massachusetts to Montana...I'm beat!" No. They never address timing. So you could take it your way - that they're driving too far too fast - or you could take it another way - that a day or two passed and the show just doesn't feel the need to address every moment that it would take, and therefore you can safely assume that more time has passed than you think.
It reminds me of this con video I was watching on Youtube of Jared and Jensen poking fun at the whole idea. Because there's continuity advisors on the show who make sure that, when people get up and move around between scenes that, for example, Sam's arm stays in the same position on the ground while he's unconscious. The boys then say, "yeah, and then people write to us saying:
'Dear Supernatural, I totally understand everything about the horesemen and Death and the demons and everything, but what I don't understand is how Sam's arm moved! Does that mean he wasn't really unconscious?'" Because it seems like that's what happening - nitpicking.

Final question: WHYYYY do so many fans dislike this season so much?
