Okay so yesterday was the BEST BEST BEST day of my SUMMER! First, it was my cousin's birthday so I woke up around 1ish to go to that and it was really fun and she's soooo cute. I told her mom that I would take them to go see "March of the Pengies" on Thursday and she said that was fine but that she wanted to come too! So that should be super fun! Then when I got home my t-shirt from Threadless AND my Bucky Done Gun single came in the mail! Then I changed like 5 times and Nicole was here so we left to go to the BSB! However I totally forgot the tickets so we had to go back like 5 min after that and get them. Haha, stupid me!
The drive up wasn't too bad although there was TONS of traffic and the Arby's we stopped at to eat sucked my tit even IF the cowboys were eating there. We got back on the road were gonna take the 17 exit but it was like traffic city so we went on an adventure and kept driving to 234 (MANASSASSSESS!) and that's where the adventure began...
Upon arriving we were super gayly excited and had to walk like half a mile to our seats. We bought out t-shirts first, changed, and then went and bought nicole a poster too. When I came out of the bathroom to wait for Nicole these random girls came up to me and asked if they could take my picture because I was a male BSB fan. I was like "okay bitches but my ho needs to be in it too!" and they were like "giggleszz lol okay!" and it was all a little weird, but cute and fun.
So we missed the first girl who opened for the BSB but she didn't sound that amazing anyways. Basically right when we sat down, The Click Five started and they were a pretty fun group. They played a great cover of "I Think We're Alone Now" by Tiffany and the Keyboard player was the craziest mofo ever! Also, Nicole got hit by the lead singer guitar pick when he decieded to fling it out into the audience. Nicole screamed and hilarity ensued!
After all that mess there was ANOTHER opening act of sorts. Apparantly MTV is airing making the band 3 in the fall and they already have it down to like 2 groups they like and they were using the audience at our concert to kind of judge which one was better? Well first up was She... with their hit She has Everything
They were pretty bad and just looked like Hooters waitresses trying to sing and dance for a nice tip. That's really mean, but I swear it's true. Also I said "She needs to wear more clothing, I think" and apparantly like a lot of people heard and laffed. Next up was CHAIN SIX!!!
They sang a much more dancey song, had a better look, and seemed to work together a lot better. The crowd picked them, blah blah blah no one cared anyways. Okay SO FINALLY the show was going to start and I'm like peeing my pants and woo! So finally the show started with a crazy clip show of the boys and it was soooooo cute and omg i was gonna die. Before the show they had this really ominous music that was driving me CRAZY because it was so intense and like "we know your going crazy waiting for the backstreet boys hahaha!" When the show finally started, I was ready with my camera and I recorded an entire video of their first song "The Call." The vid is pretty shaky because I couldn't help but dance and also you get a nice sampling of me singing along, haha. Oh well... Also, they went right into "My Beautiful Woman" afterwards and I shot a short video of the "spelling" part of the song. It's much smaller than the other video and one of my favorite parts of any song off their new cd! The first video (linked via screenshot below) is a massive 109 Megs while the second vid is only 5.4 megs! Download and enjoy the amazingness!
So the show had finally started and it was absolutely amazing! I was taking pictures left and right like a freak because well.. I AM a freak! haha. One of the best parts of the first set was the "frick and frack" moment as Brian called it where him and Nick had a cute little skit. Then Brian asked us is we knew the words to Climbing the Walls which DUH we did so we all sang along and it was amazing. They also sang "More Than That" during this set which is my FAVORITE backstreet boys song ever and I about cried! They went off stage and we were presented to another montage, this time of stuff from the "millenium" era while "It's Gotta Be You" played in the background.
They came back out and starting singing all their big singles from "Millenium" and it was the hotness. It was really hard to remember the order of the songs they were playing, but I do remember what songs they DID sing! They sang "The One," "Larger Than Life," "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely," and "I Want it that Way." They closed out the set with "Sibera" and it had real snow and it was SO AMAZING! Also, I think they sang "I Still" somewhere in this set too? Oh well, all I can say is that during Larger Than Life they like broke it down and had this crazy robot dance off and I got a short video of the end of it plus them clapping and stuff! It's another small file (8.7 megs) and it was crazy amazing!
One of the highlights from this set was when "The One" was on (i think it was the one...) and Brian said "oh so you know the words to THIS" one and he held up the microphone stand to the audience to sing! The boys were so happy that all the fans were singing along and they just seemed really into it!
and then my camera died... haha but it's okay because I got a lot of good pictures and even a lot of the not so good ones I'll be keeping forever! These little shots are only about 25% their original size and I took like 2x as many pictures! However I just thought these were the best of the best. After this set we got to see another montage and listen to "We've Got it Goin' On" which was the BSB's first single in the US yallz! They then came out and sang "As Long as You Love Me" and "All I Have to Give" with their crazy hat dance and all! They also sang "Quit Playing Games," "I'll Never Break your Heart," and "Drowning." From their new cd, they sang "Just Want you to Know" and I think they may have sang either Crawling Back to Your or I Still during this set... one of the two (albeit they sang both songs during the show at some point!). They then went away again and "Never Gone" stuff came up and they rolled out a piano and Kevin was there and he started to play "Weird World" and it was SO AMAZING" After that they sang "Incomplete" and then left the stage. Everyone was still pumped and even started chanting "BACK! STREET! BOYS!" before they finally came out and sang a hot remix of "Everybody" and it was really the best thing ever! They had fireworks and lasers and GOD IT WAS AMAZING. Oh, I forgot to mention that when they started singing Drowning I cried a little bit, haha. I've waited way too long to see them in concert and to finally be able to was absolutely amazing! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the show, but in the end it was really the best concert I've ever been to. Beating out Hanson and Kelly Clarkson hardcore! Now I only wish that they'll have another record so I can see them live again!
