Late arrival (rp thread for knowthenbreak & gothams_dent)
It was after dark -- nearly 9:00PM -- when the Mayor's town car pulled up to the Dent residence in one of Gotham's more suburban neighborhoods. Andrew Stephens wasn't entirely surprised to find that Dalia still lived with her parents, and while he did wonder how that affected her social life, he kept it to himself.
"Thanks again for the ride," Dalia said as she got out, keeping the car door open while she spoke. "I'll see you at work tomorrow." She paused. "Stay safe."
"With this motorcade, how can I not?" Andrew smirked, referring to the two vehicles - one sedan and one SUV - that had followed his liveried town car and represented his police detail.
Dalia gave him a slight look and he knew what she meant, despite his self-assured front. He would make sure (as much as he could actually do so) that Layton and his men were watched carefully.
"See you tomorrow," Andrew said, still with a half-smile on his face as Dalia went to close the door.
She gave a small wave before turning to go up the walkway to the house. Though Dalia hadn't looked, she was sure her mother was at the window the moment the cars had driven up and she doubted her father was far behind. After a deep breath, Dalia unlocked the door and turned the knob to go in.
