Walkabout
I was going to go on a walkabout today but I didn't really allow myself enough time. Now that I know all about riding the bus and the skytrain though a walkabout is defianetly in order.
I did go to commercial drive today. I went into a wonderful thrift store. They had the prettiest little dresses but its fucking cold where I'm going and the whole place was overpriced. I bought a blouse. I spent too much on it but its cute. There is a coat I might go back for. Its a green 70s inuit parka. No one at Beloit really has those, I think its a Canadian thing, so I would be unique. Its more the type of jacket I wanted last year and not really what I want for this year.
There were some other cool shops. Lots of vintage but most was stuff for warmer weather. Thats what I found with the boots too. I wish I could really pull off looking great all the time.
In other news a lot of cool stuff happens at night if you are 19 but not younger, Commercial drive reminds me of Berkley a bit-I'll probably go back with Nina, this one street corner reecked of weed, another smelled like bananas, and there is a fantastic magazine shop that I went into and am very tempted to spend even more money at.
Vancouver is not lame. I must have been lying before.
I need to read hella crazy for Lit class. i've also realized that soulseek works now!! I've been downloading lots of Lightning Bolt, Joli Holland, and Artbrut. Tell me what else I should download!
