For the THIRD and fucking last time I will attempt to write this - Livejournal has gotten errors and closed my two hours worth of writing but for the last time here goes - my kick ass weekend… a long ass update for your viewing pleasure.
Friday -
School was going great until 9th Period during Gym, this kid dived in front of me during volleyball (HARDCORE sport) and injured my leg pretty bad, it really hurt and it was clearly my ball! Then I limped home off the bus and my mom started giving me shit about going out because of my leg. I sucked it up and decided to go out. Kevin Kim picked me up and we headed to Plainview High School but we got lost for like 30 minutes and we ended up near this Catholic School… WTF? Anyways, we finally made it there and both realized we were lucky to have missed part of the band “Descent” because they were really bad. We waited till there set was over and we found everyone, too many people to name but it was a lot of fun hanging with them while we waited for “For Your Safety” - they finally came on and played a sweet cover of 20 Below by HIPV. Rich’s band was next “Hey Jealousy” - they were fucking awesome and played a great set with one of my favorite Copeland songs. We walked outside to get some skittles and we heard “Andrea Dora” in the background - this band destroyed a Norma Jean song, terrible in my opinion. “Tu Skadre” was last and they won battle - they played an awesome Catch 22 song and it was hilarious to see people skanking.
Awesome night, great people. I went right home and fell asleep, I was so tired.
Saturday -
Woke up at fucking 12:30 - it felt amazing. Listened to music, relaxed, until I went to my aunt’s house later. At my aunt’s house my grandma started yelling at me for influencing my little cousin Madeline to wear a hat all the time. It was pretty hilarious. She also said she would basically stop loving me if I ever got a piercing. So my plan is next time I see her, get all these fake piercings and tell her they are real. (She’s a grandma, how would she know?) We argued some more, then I ate tons of food, and went home, listened to Action Action and Bayside - got pumped for the show the next day!
Sunday -
Woke up at 10 - had an early drum lesson, learned some funk/RHCP stuff. That was cool, and then I did HW and got ready for the show! I went to Mel’s house and Jillian’s dad picked us up. We listened to Frank Sinatra in the car, w00t! We had to wait on line for about 20 minutes but while we were on line these people handing goldfish crackers out asked us if we wanted them. Jillian misunderstood and said “What’s a coldfish?” - the lady was really obnoxious and said “It’s cold outside… but those are goldfish crackers.” Then they took a picture of us with the goldfish and that was odd. We finally get in and the night begins.
First band was “November Kills” - they were decent and the mosh started a little during some songs. The good thing about them is that they dedicated a song to Darrel Dimebag, so that was nice of them. Nothing special though.
Second band was “Design Failure” and possibly the worst band I have ever heard in my life. SO FUCKING BAD. AH BAD. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD. BAD! SO GODAMN BAD. Alright, you get the point. They sang about some holidays and had really annoying voices. Let’s pretend that never happened.
Now music started to get good with “The Sleeping” - they opened up with Sunday Matinee and everyone went nuts, the mosh going crazy. There was this sick breakdancer in the mosh - it was awesome. They pumped up the crowd a lot but everyone was going apeshit so we stayed back a little. “If your heart was broken, you would be dead!”
The highlight of my night followed - ACTION FUCKING ACTION! We moved straight up to the front and got an amazing spot - only behind these two fucking grandmas! It was insane; they were like 60 and Action Action looked a little scared when these old ladies were cheering for them. Out the synthesizers came and they kicked into
