Chapter 5

The next three days passed by quickly and before I knew it, it was Friday after classes.

It’s been nothing but frustrations.

I decided tonight I would just go in my room, lock my door and try to get rid of this headache that’s been getting worse all day.

I didn’t have to do anything with Hangeng, for he was with Zhoumi and Henry, studying Korean in their room.

Just the thought of the transfer student had my eye twitching. ’God, he’s been here a week and been around me most of that time and he still won’t talk to me. I think it’s gotten to the point where he’ll run off with Zhoumi as soon as he sees him.’

I lay on my bed thinking about that. ’Does he hate me? If so, why does he?’

I had been thinking that more and more lately. ’I have done nothing but be helpful to him.’ I was really at a lost. I always thought I was a nice person. I never had problems making friends before. ‘Not to mention lunch is starting to get intolerable.’ Heechul has apparently decided Hangeng was going to be his new toy, for all through lunch he commands his attention and leans all over Hangeng to get as his lunch and the freaking bastard actually talks to Heechul.

Granted, a lot of it is stammering and sometimes his pronunciation is wrong, but he still talks to him. When I hear him, I can feel my eye twitch every time. ‘He has to know that Heechul is picking on him and being mean when he is demanding Hangeng cooks his lunch for him.’ I groaned and rolled over to scream into my pillow. ‘It wasn’t fair. I just want him to actually talk to me. I don’t like being ignored or hated when I haven’t actually done anything to warrant it.’

I rolled off the bed at that thought and I went to my turtle tank. I don’t think he’s moved from this morning honestly but I reached in and petted it.

I’ve heard from Kibum that Hangeng has also become friendly with Donghae from his dance class and I was sure Kibum wasn’t happy about that. He was telling me when he went to surprise Donghae the other day after practice, he saw them talking as they were cleaning up and Hangeng was actually laughing a little. Kibum started teasing me because he saw my eye twitch at that. He had asked what I did to make him just not like me, for he seemed friendly with others. I had got up and left Kibum to himself, I could still hear him chuckling. ‘It just hasn’t been my week at all.’

I heard Ryeowook and Kyuhyun walking up to Ryeowook’s room.

I stopped thinking of Hangeng to think about my other problem. ‘Wookie has been spending too much time with Kyuhyun.’ I’ve even noticed Henry spending more and more time out in the common room by his self and I knew he was Wookie’s other best friend.

I sat down at my desk and pulled out my phone, toying with the idea of sending him a text asking if he wants to hang.

I knew it would be a waste of minutes if he was already with Kyuhyun.

I had tried to go and spend time with him the past couple of nights but Kyu always seemed to be there. I had tried to ignore him and still spend time with Ryeowook, but it never lasted long. I could talk to him for all of 10 minutes before Kyuhyun stole all of the attention.

I would try to endure it for as long as I could, think how I was so close to getting revenge on Kyuhyun, and then I would give up and say I had to do something. Suddenly, Ryeowook would remember I was in the room and start apologizing. I would just say it’s okay and leave but not before seeing a look of victory from Kyuhyun’s eyes.

I swear, one day, I just want to smack the hell out of him.

Honestly, the most I have been able to talk to Ryeowook was when he told me how proud of me he was because I was helping Hangeng. The smile on his face was worth all the problems I’ve been having. Although it would be great to see it more like it used to be. ‘I’ve known Ryeowook for years and have been his friend for most of that. We even lived near each other growing up. He’s only known Kyuhyun this year, when he came to our high school from a different middle school.’

I stared at my phone, almost willing it to ring.

Even though I despise Kyuhyun, I have to admit he has an amazing voice.

“Ugh.” I threw myself on the bed. Before I could wallow in my hard earned sorrow, a knock on my door pulled me out of it. I got up to unlock it.

‘So help me, if that’s Kangin.’ But the person on the other side of the door was Kibum.

“Kibum? What are you doing here? I thought you were going to go out with Donghae tonight?”

He just shrugged and asked to come in. I moved out of the way. “Nah. Donghae called and said there was a sudden dance practice and he couldn’t miss it so I thought I would come and keep you company since I knew you’ve been in need of it.” Kibum sat on the empty bed.

I was taken back for a moment by what he said. Something didn’t sound right to me because I knew for a fact Henry and Hangeng were in Zhoumi’s room going over Korean. I saw them go in Zhoumi’s room myself, it was one of the reasons I came in here instead of the common room.

“Was it just Donghae staying after?” I decided to be cautious.

Kibum looked up at me, puzzled. “No. He called and said the teacher asked most the class to stay for some extra practice. So I assume that meant Shindong, Eunhyuk and Hangeng also stayed since they seem to be some of the better dancers.”

I looked away trying to figure out what was going on. I had an idea, but I didn’t want to voice it in case I was wrong. I decided to just push all bad thoughts out of my head for the time being and spend some time with Kibum. “So what do you want to do?” I asked, changing topics. “Want to go out and catch an action movie?”

“I was planning on going to the movies with Donghae anyway, so I’m still in the mood to see one.” He said.

I thought for a second and thought it might be a good idea to get out of the dorms. “Sure. Let’s go ahead and head out.”

As we were going down the hall, I rushed him past Zhoumi and Hangeng’s room to make sure he couldn’t hear anything from there. We made it off campus without actually running into anyone. I was kind of relieved “So what do you want to watch?” I asked, nearing the theater.

“How about we see that one?” He was pointing to an action movie.

“Sure, let’s go.”

We went up to the ticket window, paid, got some snacks and made it in time to catch the beginning.

Two hours later, we emerged from the theater talking about the finer points of the movie we just watched. Kibum said he was going over to one of his friend’s house nearby, so we parted ways about a block from the school.

I was still really curious as to what was up with Donghae, so I decided to see if he was still in the dance studio. I now knew where they practice after classes thanks to walking with Hangeng to it all the time. I headed to one of the rooms that still had lights on. It wasn’t locked so I slowly opened it to prevent it from creaking. I walked around the corner toward the dance area and came to a complete stop. Right in front of me, I saw Donghae and Eunhyuk sitting in the middle of the studio looking like they were in the middle of a picnic. I just couldn’t believe my eyes. Surely there was an explanation for why Donghae blew off his boyfriend to have a picnic with someone else. As I watched, stunned, Donghae leaned forward, holding something out for Eunhyuk and Eunhyuk leaning forward, laughing, to take it from him.

They were acting like they were dating, but I knew for a fact that Kibum and Donghae were together.

As if to make sure I got what was going on, I watched as Donghae scooted closer to Eunhyuk and started kissing him. I decided I had seen enough and left as silently as I came in. Leaving the building and heading toward the dorm, my mind was racing from what I had just seen; thinking back to all the times Kibum came to me saying Donghae had other plans or saying his phone must be dead.

‘Could he have been with Eunhyuk then?’ I couldn’t help but think that. I knew I couldn’t tell Kibum. I know how he is and I don’t want him to do anything rash.

I decided to just put what I saw out of my mind right now and just make sure that I’m there for Kibum when Donghae is busy. Reaching the dorm and making my way up to my room, I knew, eventually, I would have to tell him, but I just couldn’t be the one to end his happiness.

I was relieved when I got to my room and was able to collapse on my bed.

’Ugh, I so hope tomorrow will be different. So for right now, I’m just going to forget I saw Donghae cheating on Kibum and concentrate on my revenge on Kyuhyun. Maybe I will think about telling Kibum later? Yep, that’s a good plan.’

After that, passed out.
