Herb Garden *fingers crossed*

Marion (or as Alan likes to call her: ‘The Weed’) works in the horticulture section. About a month ago I was asking her about some herbs. Well, she kindly gave me the head’s up when these little seedlings came in :)

Pack of 6 herbs: spearmint, oregano, sage, rosemary, thyme and peppermint. Not to keen on mint personally, but it im sure I can find a use for it. Im so excited! Ive been puttin off getting more plants and herbs coz there isn’t really much space in the apartment. Well that’s the excuse ive been using for the past 2 years. Not anymore! It’ll work out much cheaper to grow them myself, plus if I really wanted to, im sure I can find the room for them.

Sadly, I couldn’t find any small pots. As usual Mr Hawkeye(a.k.a Martin lol) found some peat pots, which are even better! We got some soil, organic plant food, a pair of gardening gloves and some plant ties. I was more excited than I thought I was gonna be. Its been so long since I’d done any gardening. When I was still living with my parents, I used to garden with my dad all the time.
Its been…. 5 years since I did any gardening! Gosh, cant believe its been that long. I really missed the way the soft, moist soil feels when you scrunch it in your hands.

I really hope my little seedlings do well! :) I cant wait to plant them into their proper pots. The great thing about these little peat pots are that they are perfect for seedlings. They are bio-degradable and helps the seedlings establish a good root system. Once the roots starts to grow out the side of the peat pots (they are all natural after all), you can plant them into whatever pot you want and u don’t have to take them out of the peat pot! Plant them peat pot and all :)
