Title: ‘Friends’
Rating: probably PG
Pairing: UruhaxReita (Ruki)
Warnings: dog!Ruki xD
Summary: Written for my English elective class assessment last year *is slack*
Ruki…’I hear my masters voice float from his bedroom to the living room, where I’m curled up on a fuzzy blue mat that his friend Kai got for me. I stand and the bell affixed to my collar jingles softly as I make my way to his bedroom pad, click ,pad, click.
As I enter my masters’ room he’s sitting on the bed with the shy, bewildered look he always seems to have. He senses my presence‘Rukiki’He croons softly, I walk closer and press my nose against his knee. Almost immediately he shifts and his warm hands are scratching behind my ears before my leash is clumsily attached. We’re going out.
Though with whom I wonder, whether he has me or not my master isn’t the type to go out alone. The doorbell rings, my masters stands and I know I’m to lead him to the door. I lead him through the house as I’ve done hundreds of times before. Master doesn’t actually get lost or anything, after all we’ve lived here for almost five years now. I guess it’s just a comfort thing for him to know I’m beside him.
Master opens the door and is promptly pulled into a fierce hug (or to me a crash tackle). Master chuckles returning the hug for a brief moment before pushing the other off him and I can finally see who masters’ visitor is. It’s Uruha, masters’ ‘more than a friend friend' I mean, both master and Uruha deny it but ‘just friends’ doesn’t cover Uruha locking me in the laundry room and them doing something that involves a lot of thumps and groaning, but that’s another story.
I’m pulled from my thoughts by Uruha tugging at my leash, both he and master are outside in the hallway and I’m still in the doorway. Oops. We head down the hall to the apartment complexes only elevator, master holding both my leash and Uruhas hand at the same time. We enter the elevator and I can make out snatches of conversation from the two who are whispering softly. Something about antiques, pianos’ and band practice, I think.
We head along the busy sidewalk to the left of the complex and my master pulls both me and Uruha closer to him, for protection almost. We stop suddenly and enter a tiny dingy shop I haven’t noticed before.
The paint on the walls is peeling and the scent of dust is thick in the air and theirs cobwebs hanging in the corners.‘It’s an antique shop, they have heaps of pretty jewellery and stuff' I heard Uruha say excitedly. We walk single file now, between towering shelves of books, old toys and novelties to a small room at the back right hand corner of the shop. Uruha pushes the door open and closes it behind us.
This room is actually rather pretty; flower printed curtains and an old grandfather clock resting in the far corner. Master lets go of my leash and mumbles something unintelligible to Uruha who leads him to the centre of the room, where a black old-style piano rests. Uruha sits down and places master on his lap with a soft frightened yelp (master that is, not Uruha). I retreat to the other corner to keep watch and hide from the stuffed moose on the wall. When I look back to my master Uruha is gently running his fingers over the black and ivory keys.
Play, I know you know you can’
Uruha coaxes him softly, my master sighs, but begins to play Miseinen I think it’s called, masters band plays a more loud and scary version of it.
Master seems completely peaceful now. Uruhas hands around his waist, head resting on his shoulder as he plays. Just friends, I don’t think so.
