Something that just occurred to me...

For the Phoenix Wright musical, they use the names from the American version of the game.
However, in Japan, all of the characters in the Gyakuten Saiban video games have their own Japanese names.

For example,
Phoenix Wright > Naruhodo Ryuuichi
Maya Fey > Ayasato Mayoi
Miles Edgeworth > Mitsurugi Reiji
Franziska von Karma > Karuma Mei
Dick Gumshoe > Itonokogiri Keisuke

(These are just a few of the major characters. The lead musumeyaku roles aren't included, because they are original characters.)

My question is, why did Takarazuka decide to use the American localization names? I think that it would make more sense for them to use the Japanese release names, because the fans of the series would be more familiar with them. Plus, there are a lot of interesting name puns with the Japanese names that the Japanese fans wouldn't get with the English names...

I don't know. It's just that, as a fan of the original game, it strikes me as kind of an odd thing to do...
