Now, on to the only thing that's been in my head...
I've been watching the Alice Academy episodes dubbed AND CUT by ABS-CBN. I even complained a lot about it in a post in another community. I'm so sure that I'm going to comment on every single episode they showed. And, well, their voices are amazing. Amazingly terrible.
First of all, Mikan sounded less childish. BUT SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE CHILDISH. Ugh. It makes me so annoyed. Hotaru's voice is slightly cold, but not perfect for me. But what I'm VERY disappointed about is NARUMI's voice. I actually expected it to be some gay guy voicing him, or a "bakla", and sound really "baduy". Well, I'm partially thankful his voice wasn't like it, but still utterly disappointed at it. He doesn't sound effeminate at all. AT ALL. He sounds like a kind young man. Well, maybe I'm slightly disappointed (at my favorite character's voice *sigh*). But Natsume's voice makes him sound childish. Maybe even MORE CHILDISH than Mikan. What craziness. Sure, it sounded SLIGHTLY mean, but not enough. Ruka's voice was quite fine for me, but it didn't sound quite harsh at the beginning, which was supposed to happen. Misaki-sensei sounds less serious than it's supposed to be. Jinno-sensei's voice sounds... UNBELIEVABLE. And to think I was actually hoping he would still sound like that serious, old headmaster I knew. He just didn't.
The voices are just a little part of all the bad things about what ABS-CBN did to Alice Academy. They CUT A LOT OF SCENES. Mostly even the most important scenes. I posted every single mistake I could see on the post linked above ;). I was already used to the terrible cutting they did to the opening and ending themes. I just really pity the people who've watched Alice Academy for the first time, BECAUSE THEY PROBABLY WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND MUCH. Most of the time, scenes would suddenly jump from one event to another. You'd most probably wonder "What happened?" when there would be a commercial break and you'd think a lot of parts happened (which you missed) afterwards. It leaves me frustrated all right. To think that they would have the nerve to cut scenes like that! What is the point of watching the anime there if they would just cut most scenes? WHY EVEN WATCH THERE????
Ahh, funnily I have easily forgotten about one mistake which I would consider very shocking for all the GA fangirls, especially the Natsume fangirls. The very fact that they CHANGED Natsume's name to NATOOMEY. Wow. No wonder my post had 80+ comments XD. I mean, Natsume's supposedly a respected kind of guy. Sometimes, they even change it to NATUUMEH. Can they actually make up their minds about his name? IT reminds me of weird things. Many disgusting words in Filipino. Tutule. Bulate. How idiotic. I couldn't believe at first, but silly me, I shouldn't be surprised at all.
I don't hate the Philippines. I just hate what this certain channel has done to something Japanese people have worked hard for, have fallen in love with, have loved Gakuen Alice. Not only Japanese people though. I know that the Philippines is one of the number one fan countries (XD) of Gakuen Alice because of Animax. The way Animax showed it wasn't as bad as THE OTHER CHANNEL OVER THERE. It even made Filipino fans crazy. XD No direct offense to ABS-CBN though. Even if they really did a bad job. XD
