Review for our WKF Fansub Episode 16
Takarachan14 here commenting on WKF's Episode 16 Fansub if Gakuen Alice... XD
First of all, I'd like to say that we have done a great job!!!! 8D
Ok, I'll get on to the points.
I noticed that there were no subtitles which were put on top, in case two or more people were talking at the same time, and instead, there are three lines on the bottom of the screen.
But what I'll really be reviewing about now is the Filipino used in the episode (I know, I'm translator, but we could seriously use some improvement!). I'll be taking note of some spellings, but not too much of the grammar issues (I'm not THAT hard-working for a review 8D).
Wrong spellings:
Confused spellings because of syllables
eskwuelahan - eskuwelahan/eskwelahan
=> Note on the W rule: when this is used in words like kwento, pwesto and eskwelahan, the spelling with a U (kuwento, puwesto, eskuwelahan) is more acceptable
two words which have been made into one because of usage/joint words
samin - sa amin
diba - 'di ba
sayo - sa 'yo
shortened words
yung - 'yung
words which sound different from the original spelling/has weird spelling
celebrasyon - selebrasyon
kulet - kulit
words with 't but has -
Aso't-Pusa - Aso't Pusa
Isa't-isa - Isa't isa
I would also like to say that I noticed some wrong capitalizations..
-when a letter which isn't supposed to be capitalized in a sentence was capitalized (although when it's in another line it might be forgivable) it usually happened accidentally after a comma
-Alice should be capitalized since it is a power
Oh, and just a little of the NG thing...
"Paanong naging armas ito?"
Take out the NG in Paano because there's already naging blocking it. ;)
Now, let's just remember the rule by the line we corrected before:
"isang masayang at exciting"
Ok, carefully look at masayang at exciting. since it's describing something, but exciting is already blocking masayang, then there is no need to add ng to masaya. Look what happened. It became maSAYANG (wasteful XD)
Phew. I'm becoming lazy to continue reviewing. Perhaps I'll be continuing this sometime. XD
Anyway, feel free to correct me here. 8D
Oh yeah, we forgot to translate AS IF in one line. XD We better not be forgetful (I think I'm the most forgetful in the group anyway) XD
