I went to a yoga class for the first time in... years. It was harder to get in the groove than I had expected. During the class, I honestly thought about the AnS episode (Ep #50, 2007.09.17) in which Yamada Yuu guested and made all of Arashi do a few yoga poses. I suppose I should have been "clearing my mind" but Arashi is always on my mind. Two reflections I have to share on the related incident, accompanied by screencaps (credit to

Reverse Namaste
Basically what you see on the left is what is supposed to happen. Sho-kun needed help, and even then, his hands wouldn't come together. I was actually able to maintain this pose without trouble, but I totally saw some people struggling... It made me giggle a little. Probably a yoga-etiquette-no-no.
Fish Pose
We didn't actually do this one, but it's awfully close to the
Bridge Pose, which we did in my class and requires lifting one's butt off the mat and and leaning back on the shoulders to get ready for an inversion. So... I hadn't tried inversions in previous yoga classes, but this time there were some built into the sequence. I got into Bridge Pose, and into
Upward Bow... and then couldn't hold my pose! I ended up with a face akin to Sho-kun's in the left photo as I tried to figure out what to do and not seem conspicuously inept.
I would never have the courage to be a yoga first-timer on national television, so kudos to Sho-kun, really. I unroll my mat at the back of the class.
