The Actual Trip
Well, I left for Oklahoma on December 21, and sadly, there were some minor mishaps that morning: I forgot to pack certain things, almost forgot my boarding pass, and when I was on my way into the airport, I tripped and fell. Lol, go figure, ne?
The problem was when I got there and went to the baggage claim in Oklahoma City, I couldn’t find
wild_card_remy (Jacob), and my cell phone had no service, so I was stuck trying to look for him… It turns out he was waiting at the gate, but we had just missed each other, lol. Anyways, we drove back to his house, said hi to everyone, let me change shoes, and then did some last minute Christmas shopping for the kids and his family.
Christmas was spent at home with Jenn and the kids over. At least they like me still, lol. I got some really neat things, and everyone seemed to like the gifts I bought for them, so that was good. Then, we went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, which despite what I thought, turned out to be a really cute movie. Granted, it’s not a GREAT movie, in my opinion, but I was thought it was still worth watching, and I like the soundtrack too (Yes, go ahead, and say I’m weird, lol).
The big family Christmas gathering didn’t happen until that Friday, due to the fact Jacob’s grandparents were up in Illinois (I believe). Thankfully, there were no mishaps with the dessert I made this year, lol, and people seemed to like it. Also, I became even more like an “aunt” and went to go help Tyler and Jeremiah with their Lego sets, and I have to say about it is this…
…If I have kids, they’re waiting till they’re ten to get ANY Lego sets. Man, those things were a pain, lol.
We mailed off Lisa’s Christmas gift, and though it got there late, she did like it and the card. We also had a Halo night with Chris, Kara (Jacob’s sister), and Val. Both Jacob and Chris were impressed with how well I behaved around her. In addition, we both different games (I got Final Fantasy Mystic Quest ^_^ ) and animes, particularly Orphen. And, I also started work on his Cloud armor, which makes me VERY happy, lol.
Also, Jacob and I sat down and had some very (serious) good talks about the future, especially with me moving over to Oklahoma at the end of the year, where he saw us going, and well, about some other aspects of our relationship. Again, that all went well, and I really think it’s going to work, so yay! ^_^ Let’s see…I think that covers all of the general things we did, so onto the personal stuff:
On our anniversary, sadly, Jacob had to work, but we were able to cook breakfast together, hang out at the mall, and watch some TV before he had to leave. Then, basically after work, we both changed (he came home an hour early, so it threw me off), ordered some pizza, exchanged gifts, and had a candlelit dinner while we watched Move Over, Darling. I gave him a picture of Chip and Dale he wanted from the Disney Store (thank you again, Mrs. Gregorovic for taking me shopping with you the day before! ^_^ ), and in turn, he bought me a new copy of Final Fantasy XII. It actually was a really nice night.
For New Year’s Eve, we were originally going to go watch National Treasure: Book of Secrets with his family, but Jacob injured his leg, so he would have been in too much pain if we went. Instead, I just offered to order some Applebee’s to go for dinner, and I made a cheesecake. We watched the ball drop as well as My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and we shared two kisses-one of each of our time zones. He kept apologizing for us not being able to go to the movie, to which I responded, “Hey, I came here to see YOU, and that’s what I’m doing now, right? So, stop worrying about it. I’m having a great time, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.”
Finally, on our last night together, Jacob and I got dressed up and went out for dinner, sort of a late anniversary dinner. It was a great hassle getting ready (the power was out at his house for like three hours), and just numerous things went wrong while I was trying to get ready. But, it worked out in the end, and we went to Cheddar’s. I have to agree with him: You definitely get your money’s worth of food when you eat there. Afterwards, we went by some video game stores and went home for me to pack.
Sadly, I had a REALLY early flight the next morning, and I can say this, I was missing him before we even got to the airport. Heh, to this day, it’s still hard to get up and not see him beside me. I really do miss him… *Stops herself and laughs softly, wiping at her eyes* Sorry, didn’t mean to get so emotional there… *Clears her throat* Now, where was I? Oh yeah! I forgot!
