From a land called Nottingham, in a room with the Internet Connection of Doom, I am finally able to update and inform all that yes, I am still alive and yes, I really did go insane without any internet access for the past two weeks. Other than that, the fact that my external hard drive did actually and not just figuratively explode (there was smoke and everything) and my ipod stopped working, all has gone well. My new flat is pretty nice and my flatmates friendly. They cooked dinner for me on my birthday! My course seems very interesting, although I am a little worried that I have no idea what I'm doing. But then, when did I? Nottingham is a beautiful city, and there's tonnes of shops. And it doesn't feel too dangerous. Randomly, almost everyone I have met has been an international student of some kind and, as yet, no one with any common interests. But damn if the university campus isn't the most ENORMOUS place in the universe. It really is stunningly pretty though. Lots of trees. Just as well I like trees.
So, disconnected from all that I love, I missed out on all the Tsubasa and xxxholic excitement this week. This made me extremely sad and resulted in me burying myself in my new and exciting textbook; "The Globalization of World Politics" for several hours. You see how desperate I got! Oddly, this past week has been more traumatising than when I was without internet in Japan for 4 weeks. Probably because it was just so hard to get this internet connection to just damn well work. Anyway, it seems to be more or less working now so I can stop angsting.
Lastly, thanks to those who offered birthday greetings and I shall now go and catch up on my flist... ugh...
