Phew it's hot, and it's gone ten at night, so I'm hiding out in the study with my computer and photobucket and I have had some words so I have
photos of Italia!
We're staying in a converted barn up near a village called Castel Rigone.
It's a lovely place that my mum's friend owns. She lives in a house behind it. We have a pool of our own, and a terrace, which looks like this:
The first night we were here there was a firework display in the nearby town of Passignano, on the lake. It was pretty impressive, and had some I'd never seen before that exploded over the water.
Yesterday we visited Florence, which was beautiful and absolutely boiling.
Of course, I had my Doitsu and Italia with me, and they enoyed the famous bridge as my mum and brother thought I was completely insane:
The Cathedral is the most impressive building in the city.
Florence also featured some interesting statues...
This morning we went to nearby Perugia, which is a small town full of windy backstreets and old buildings.
The town has some Eutruscan stuff which I was very excited about, particularly as the main attraction was an underground well that was dark and damp and fun to explore.
There was also the main town square, with its medieval meeting hall and church:
The town is built on a mountain, and is an old fortress. We explored the streets and the views of the city were gorgeous.
So that's it for now. Siena tomorrow morning so bed for me now!
