Why Seimei and Musashi have never visited reason #298: My flat is a mess again

Jan 03, 2009 22:13

I have come to the conclusion that I am far too happy with my life. Surely someone who has as little money and prospects as me shouldn't be this content?

I entirely blame Croydon. I had an entirely too fun time shopping there today. It might have been the large group of Christians outside Dorothy Perkins shouting, "Jesus loves you," (Oh! How they made me smile.) Or the fact that the Croydon Forbidden Planet is a cliche to end all cliches when it comes to comic book stores. (I sincerely love visiting stores like this, because I wear entirely too smart clothes to be anything but a freak in such places. I was once accused of being French for this. IT'S NOT MY FAULT I HAVE FRENCH ANCESTORS.) Or perhaps it was the amazingly cheap price of pyjamas. I don't know.

I suppose I could also blame the new series, Demons for putting me in a good mood today. It may be ITV, but it was really very enjoyable, for the following reasons:

(1)Philip Glenister's accent is appallingly hilarious
(2)Gratuitous man half-nekkidness is approved of
(3)The effects are worse than Merlin, and I didn't actually think that possible
(4)It has a library
(5)The plot was quite ridiculous
(6)The girls in it are hot
(7)It has Gaius in it next week, with suitably amazing hair

In any case, I approve.

I also somewhat approve of the new choice in Doctor. Well, approve might be a bit of a strong word. More like, don't care. I reserve judgment until I've seen him. But I really want the new Doctor to wear a hoodie. Really really do. Also, there is gay-potential. This is always a bonus. Indeed, my first thought was: "Let us consider how he would look nekkid and smexing various Masters. Hmm. Yes. Quite nice." I'm not this shallow usually I swear.

In other news, I'm saving up for a sewing machine.

p.s. There is not enough love in the Merlin fandom for Uther/Gaius. This makes me sad because there is nothing more pure and beautiful than old man love. As Sainkoku Monogatari has quite clearly taught us: IT'S NOT LOVE UNLESS YOU ARE CARRYING YOUR DEAD LOVER'S ASHES AROUND IN A POT WITH YOU ALL DAY.
