Aya wants to tell the telepath standing there, letting Aya die in his shadow, that he'd rather die, and that Schuldig can go fuck himself. He'd say it in English, too, because he's proud of what he's learned. But upon this life-and-death reflection, this rembrance of days gone by, he realizes he really doesn't want to die. Not here, not now: on the street, senselessly and alone.
And so he bows his head in acceptance, and then raises his eyes to Mastermind...
...but the telepath is gone, his laughter reverberating in Aya's ears.
It is the last clear sound Aya ever hears.
