Mmm...go for wacom, I've never had a problem with mine, and I've had it over three years.
Well, except that I keep losing/breaking the styluses, but that's my own damn fault. Ah...mine was only $99 too, it's a 4X6, I dunno if you need a bigger one. So lovely though, I can't imagine being without it. (Except, yes I can, since stylus #3 is currently MIA)
I was alway curious about ComicWorks...if it's any good, post a review! I don't normally tone things (I just do color like an american comic, or a restricted palette color) but I'm intrigued...
I would love to colour my manga-but I can't do that as it has to be black/white to be published. I've never really toned things either, but I tried the Comicworks demo awhile back.
I wish it would be only $99 here, but I'm in Australia and our doller is worth less. 4x6 might be a tad small for me though, as I have a giant one now and I'm spoiled. I'll have to shop around for prices as well....because I'm working on estimates at the moment.
Yeah, it is a bit small, I guess I've just been working on it so long I'm accustomed to it...I look at the 12X14 ones and just kinda boggle. The pressure on it's fantastic though...I used it with opencanvas a looong time ago (I think OC was shareware at the time? Or maybe I just stole it?) and it worked very nicely.
Hee, yeah, I self publish (meaning, I sneak into the local elementary school and use their color laser printer, 'cause I'm a hoodlum) which is grand, 'cause my coloring skills are the only thing that keeps me from terrible mediocrity.
I think that in the end, my finaces will make me buy a smaller tablet. The size of the tablet in the end does not really matter that much. XDXD And I'm glad to hear it worked well with Open canvas. ^___^
BTW How is the self-publishing going? Do you sell at cons, or do you have a website? *is curious*
Ay, so far I've only done my friend's short comic 'Tricycle'--we sold out of our 25 copies at Otakon in a few hours O.o; I was not prepared!!
My own stuffers in kinda on hold at the moment, as my best friend/worst enemy/person who writes all that shiznat is now changing the focus of the story for the third time. Ayargh. But ya, I plan to sell that at cons and on my site. (which is woefully, woefully un-updated at the moment, we're talking months outdated, but if you want to look-- www.rydia.net/peanutgallery )
