Friday, I think it was, I was looking out our kitchen window when I saw a butterfly on our patio. It was neat looking: almost all black, with faded yellow outlining on its wings. When I was a kid I caught some caterpillars from the neighbor's yard and they turned into these. They'd fly around my bedroom and land on me when I came in. They'd drink sugar water right from my hand. I eventually let them go (I knew butterflies had a short lifespan and I didn't want to be around when they died), but ever since then I've had a soft spot in my heart for Mourning Cloaks.

For those not afraid of butterflies (how I envy you), it was probably demonstrating how content a creature can be when it uses all of the amazing qualities nature gave it. It doesn't try to be anything else than what it was built for.
