Silly Aussies
I did something really annoying yesterday. There's a bar on the street I walk down every day that has a sign up that has been making me crazy for a week and I actually went and talked to them about it. The sign said this:
CINQUO DE MAYO (Mexican Day of the Dead) party this Wednesday! (etc, etc)
*sigh*
So I went and had to explain that Dia De Los Muertos was actually in November and that the 5th of May really just commemorates a battle in which the Mexicans defeated some French in the 1800s. The chick at the bar, backed by a wall covered in alcohol, bats and other Day of the Dead type paraphernalia stared at me in amazement as I explained that I couldn't take it any more. It will be interesting to see if they bothered to change it.
