Personality:
Tails is a very amiable fox, who values friendship more than anything else. Because of being bullied before meeting Sonic, he can be shy around new people, but usually warms up to them quickly. He admires Sonic because of what he's accomplished, and wants to be more like him, despite the fact that his admiration and fanboyism was what caused him to follow Sonic in the first place, not because Sonic wanted him to follow.
Until recently, Tails had trouble with courage. He wanted to prove that Sonic could count on him, so continually he would help him out. A few times, however, his courage shone through in his actions, especially when Sonic or any of his friends are in danger, because he wishes he could be like him and do heroic acts on his own.
Tails is a person who strongly believes in trusting in his friends, and above all, never leaving them behind. Perhaps his strongest attribute is perseverance - Tails will never give up when his friends (and sometimes life itself) are in danger, even when all hope seems lost. All of these traits link with his determination - while it may be hard to show sometimes, when the time comes, Tails is quite determined to do what he must.
Tails is a mechanical genius - he loves messing around with machines, flying mechas, and modifying designs. Sometimes when he sees something that's broken he can't help but fix it, or even upgrade it if he's got the parts. Tails can do anything with mechanics as long as he has an idea for it. Most of the time you can find Tails working on some sort of machine. Sometimes when he sees one, something takes over him and he just has to work on it somehow, even if there's nobody around! In terms of mechanical prowess, Tails rivals Dr. Robotnik, but has not realized his true potential yet.
Tails loves mint candy, but fears thunder, and has a large tendency to ramble on when someone doesn't stop him, especially when it comes to talking about mechanics or any part of it.
While Tails is most fond of Sonic, he also is fond of many of his other friends. He feels like a brother and an ally towards Knuckles, considers Amy like a big (and annoying) sister, and a friend towards Big, with the little conversations they've had throughout their adventures. He also feels somewhat competitive against Wave after what happened in the EX World Grand Prix, and more so than at Jet or Storm. As far as his relations at Sumabura Gakuen, Tails considered Jeff Andonuts a good friend who taught him a lot of stuff, as well as Captain Falcon for letting him work on his car.
Backstory:
Before he met Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower was extremely shy. He was picked on for the fact that he had two tails, despite the fact this allowed him to fly.
It was then that he met Sonic, speeding across the beach on West Side Island. In awe at his speed, blue hair and his ability to spin-dash, Tails started following him around secretly. Once he knew Sonic had seen him, he tried to keep up, and eventually succeeded at being able to do so, surprisingly even to himself. It was then that Sonic let him tag along.
It wasn't long, however, until Tails came across the Tornado, the plane that Sonic had landed on West Side Island with. Suddenly taken over by his love for messing around with machines, Tails fixed up the plane to make it work better, and Sonic let him keep it.
About this time, Dr. Robotnik had recovered from his defeat at Sonic's hands, and decided to take over West Side Island, after building a base of operations dubbed the 'Death Egg.' When Sonic decided it was time to act, Tails followed suit, helping him in any way he could.
Sonic trusted Tails, and asked him to fly them up after Robotnik once he started to retreat towards the Death Egg. Despite the fact that the road was dangerous, Sonic and Tails perservered and, upon getting to the Wing Fortress, Sonic was ready to jump when the Tornado got shot. Sonic landed on the Fortress, but Tails fell along with the plane back to the ground.
It thankfully didn't take him long to fix the wing that the laser had shot, and soon after, he saw the Death Egg explode. Worried about Sonic, he got in the plane and flew up towards it, and once he saw Sonic falling towards the Earth, he flew the top of the biplane right below him, and Sonic landed, giving Tails a thumbs-up. It was then that Tails became Sonic's loyal friend, and began following him on many more adventures.
They helped save Angel Island and get it floating back in the sky when Robotnik stole the Master Emerald, as well as Sonic stopping the Death Egg from being re-established in space. This is also where they met Knuckles.
They also saved Station Square from Robotnik and the re-awakened Chaos, as well as Tails stopping Robotnik from getting to a missile that was meant to destroy it, but didn't go off. Robotnik pulled out his Egg Walker mecha, and Tails stopped it by himself, proving that he could defeat Robotnik on his own. It was also around this time that Tails had put a Chaos Emerald inside the engine of the Tornado, and gave it a makeover, calling the new plane the Tornado 2.
Soon afterward, Tails upgraded the Tornado 2 once more, allowing it to transform into a walking mecha that he dubbed the Cyclone. His battles with Robotnik now became more fierce, as they battled each other in similar mechas, but Tails still perservered and won.
However, Robotnik succeeded in getting all of the emeralds, and found the Space Station 'ARK' thanks to a shut-down military project called Shadow the Hedgehog, and almost succeeded in destroying the Earth, but the Eclipse Cannon, the ARK's weapon, overloaded and the entire station started to go haywire. Tails, along with the rest of the group, even Shadow and Robotnik, worked together and destroyed the prototype of the Ultimate Life Form, the Biolizard, and all was well again.
Not long after, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and a few others learned of a worldwide competition. It was called the 'EX World Grand Prix,' using waveboards that had the ability to hover, and Tails built a few for himself, Sonic and Knuckles. He also built a spare for Sonic in case something happened to his main one.
It was here that he found a rival named Wave the Swallow. Wave made fun of Tails' design, hoping to make him race worse, but instead it came back to bite her in the butt as Tails determinedly raced harder than ever, and beat her. It was soon after this that they became friendly rivals, and promised to finish what was started someday.
Soon, though, Tails learned that Sonic and Knuckles, among others, were going to go to this school called the Smash Bros. Academy. He followed them, and started to get to know a couple of people, including Captain Falcon and Jeff Andonuts, as he helped the two get along. He was roommates with Jeff most of the time, and as intellectual people, they learned a lot from each other, and Tails now tries to build things from spare parts he finds with his Item Radar he got from his own adventures.
There was something he had to do, however, and Tails went back home for a while. It didn't take long for sadness and loneliness to come back to him, as he missed his friends dearly, and he has now come back to Smash Bros. Academy in hopes of reuniting with his friends, and making new ones.
Anything Else?:
- Tails does not like to be called Miles.
- As he is quick to make friends, most non-evil characters should find it easy to converse with him. Except when he rambles on about mechanics.
- Tails is able to do normal fighting moves (punching, kicking) and is also able to spin at a rapid rate due to a small charm he got from his adventures.
- He tires quickly from flying.

Tails quickly moved through the halls, desperate to get to the BioMechanical Engineering class. He knew he was late; he was too busy working on the Cyclone to realize the time. Then he came across a whole mob of students, apparently it was rush hour or something.
Determined not to waste any time, he spun his tails and hovered into the air, flying over the students and attempting to navigate throughout the halls.
However, it wasn't long before he came across the classroom, and just in time, too; he had begun to tire from the flying. He touched down on the ground, opened the door, and walked in. "Sorry I'm late!"
