Walking along Stokes Croft today, bumped into Rowdy, who is sorting out the Emporium for their next exhibition. Running from 26/9/9 to 8/10/9,
Great Birds in Bristol.
Outside the Canteen at
Coexist, underneath the Banksy's Mild Wild West, there's a hand painted banner about dangers of ketamine that looks as if it's been put together by one of the Coexist crew or perhaps one of the usual suspects from
The People's Republic of Stokes Croft, not an NHS/HPA thing.
Forgive me for coming across all public information, but ketamine doesn't break down too well in the body and can lead to serious bladder and urinary tract infections, which can lead on to other complications which tend to be picked up by GUM clinics - a colleague at the lab has been looking into some cases. The numbers are on the rise. May have a word with him tomorrow about it when I'm in, as I'm no clinician.
Found it a lot more eye catching/effective that some sterile NHS document, or some yoof PR spin hokum like FRANK or drug driving campaigns.
Ach well back to food poisoning, tuberculosis and all the rest. Roll on six when I finish, then I get more time cleaning up my ghetto with the carpet cleaning wonder aqua vac that
quercus lent us. It sounds like a jet engine, does the trick and is ace.
