Okay, so I have theories about all of the shady stuff happening on H50 these days. Well, okay, I have one theory. I also mention a spoiler under this cut to support my speculation.

I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but I think this is a very good theory. Because Joe seems too evil and he has to be redeemed. And so does Steve's dad. Teen!Steve! Flailing.

Yeah, I feel like they're going to redeem him somehow, and it'll have to be something big to do that right now since Steve has lost a lot of trust in him since the start of the season. I was wondering if Shelburne has anything to do with Steve's mom, but then I remembered that Steve's dad asked Wo Fat about it in that video so I'm no sure why he'd do that if it was related to Steve's mom.

God, teenage Steve. I'm already bursting with love.

tbh, I'm surprised I've managed to have any theories on this at all, for the exact same reason! But I talk about H50 with my co-workers wife, and somehow she seems to have lots of theories about the actual plot of the show, and we were discussing who Joe could be protecting and suddenly I was like, STEVE'S MOM. And she agreed, so. :D

We were discussing the same thing in our flat the other day... I really do believe Steve's mum could still be alive and that Joe is protecting her. It'd definitely be a shocker if that's the case.

Yeah, and they love shockers on this show. I was discussing this with my co-worker's wife right after we found out Joe was protecting someone, and we both feel like that's the only thing that makes sense.

Yeah, I agree - or qt least I hope that's where they're going with this. Having Steve's mom be dead seemed kind of convenient - itd be pretty awesome if she turns up like Sydney's mom on Alias, badass and scary. Clearly Steve got his ninja from her.

I feel like it makes as much sense as anything else. I know Plenkov said that he's known for a while what will happen in the S2 finale, so it's obviously going to be big and this would fit the bill. I hope she's awesome, though. I kind of want her to be snarky like Mary, or maybe a spy who's been keeping tabs on Steve all these years. Or maybe if she was the one investigating Wo Fat and she had to go underground, which is when McGarrett Sr. took over. idk idk, this show is so crazypants anything is possible.
