Fill: Problems (Steve/Danny) [1/2] puckkit July 21 2011, 01:25:45 UTC
I hope multiple fills are allowed- I did this before I saw there was another fill.

The problem is when Steve walks out of the dressing room in a suit off the rack (plain black, three buttons), makes his way over to the mirror and does a pivot that should look ridiculous but somehow doesn’t.

The clerk, taking his cue, says, “Wow, that’s a good fit,” before walking over and doing a quick inspection. He gets Steve to raise his arms, circles around him while somehow managing to look impressed and not predatory. “No, that’s good. You’re good to go.”

Steve, of course, takes this moment to look at Danny from across the room and raise a single eyebrow.

Suddenly there is zero doubt. This man will die by Danny’s hands.

Perhaps not today, or tomorrow, because he’s saving up some money for the months he’ll likely spend hiding out from the world due to this plan, but …

And then Steve winks.

Maybe today, Danny corrects in his head.

OK, so that wasn’t the problem. Or rather, it wasn’t the start of the problem. The problem started when Chin walked into Steve’s office where Danny and Steve were having a friendly conversation regarding the massive gouges that Danny had discovered on the back bumper of his beautiful car (“it’s a tiny scratch, Danny, the paint is still on,” the foolish man had said in his weak attempt at an impossible defense).

Chin, in all his infinite wisdom, merely tossed a file down on the desk between them and casually threw out a, “you two are going undercover, you have an appointment at Alice Tse & Tuxedo at 3,” over his shoulder as he left.

Steve blinked.

Danny decided, once again (he really was a tireless humanitarian) to be the better man. Not that there was a lot of competition in that area, Chin excluded because he was clearly more god than man.

So that, really, was where the problem began.

“Whoa, now, we do not know each well enough for this,” Danny said, staying still through force of will as the clerk knelt in front of him and measured his inseam and made notes. “In fact, it may be possible that I know no one well enough for this.” The clerk valiantly ignored him, stood up, and began measuring his arms.

“No one?” Steve asked, smirking the smirk that had launched a thousand ships. “Because that’s not what you said…”

“No no no no no, Steven. No.” Steve opened his mouth. “No. No! Do you realize that I only need to tell Gracie no once? Once. Are you aware of how much older you are? I mean, granted, we are discussing physical age because clearly your emotional age is lagging but…”

“I get it, Danny.”

“He gets it.” Danny looked around, gesturing grandly to the mannequins and the unimpressed clerk who had to duck swiftly to avoid getting clipped. “Did everyone hear that- he actually gets it. Someone give the man a … what are you doing. No. Seriously. What are you doing?”

Steve shrugged and continued running his hand down the front of Danny’s chest. “Just making sure it’s a good fit. It’s important that we look the part.”

His hand made its way around the bottom of the suit jacket, slipping inside to squeeze his hip briefly before circling around to the small of his back.

Steve’s head dipped and Danny had a moment to wonder where the hell the clerk had disappeared to, and to be thankful that he had, before Steve diverted his course and looked over Danny’s shoulder.

Steve’s other hand joined the first and they straightened the coat from behind, furtively slipping beneath suit jacket, vest, and shirt to rest, hot and heavy, on skin. Danny felt his breath catch before his temper caught up. He hissed, “Are you out of your fucking m-“

Steve hummed and pulled him closer, muffling his voice in his chest. “Just relax,” he murmured. “I’m just checking the fit.”

Danny had more than a few words to say to that, most ran along the lines of when suit fitting was added to the how to how your breath underwater for three days SEAL curriculum but Steve’s hands retreated, smoothing their way up his spine and across the tops of his shoulders before he pulled away slightly and it took all of Danny’s willpower to not give away just how much of a step backwards that felt like.

Curse him, Steve just smiled like he knew (and of course he knew) before dragging his palms down the length of Danny’s arms, letting them linger on the hem of his cuffs before just barely tracing the back of Danny’s hands and pulling away fully.

Staring at Steve’s shoulder, Danny took a breath.

“You know," He started, "we can just call the store later-“

“Say we had someplace to be-“

“We are the 5-0, crime to fight, bad guys to attack without mercy-“

“Why Danny, you aren’t suggesting-“

“I won’t be doing anything more than suggesting if you don’t-“

“How quickly can you get out of your clothes?”

Both of Danny’s eyebrows rose. “Steven. You aren't-“

But Steve already had his shirt unbuttoned and was working on his cuffs. Danny felt the words dry up in his throat.

“In the car, five minutes, you pay.”

As he fumbled his way out of the jacket and headed for the dressing room, Danny reflected that while that had been where his problems started, as far as Steve was concerned, they just never seemed to end.

Yes and yes and all ways yes. I love it. I love the way Danny's completely clueless about how hot he is, how he's just registering Steve's manhandling without realizing why Steve's doing it, it's just gorgeous.

Multiple fills should never be discouraged! It just means more fabulousness for our reading pleasure. And this was very fabulous. I like Steve getting handsy and Danny's repeated noes.
