I mean, you've got a solid idea, but the overuse of pet names is just killing the fic. Let's be a little subtle about this, okay? Just because he says it once doesn't mean he does it every time he opens his mouth.

THIS.

I told myself I

"But, I just..." Yusuf looks sheepish. "I just think it's cute when he calls him sweetheart." He ducks his head and looks away.

...where Arthur finds out he can't get pregnant and Eames comforts him, Yusuf leans forward, watching her facial expressions.

I LITERALLY ROFL'ED.

"It's porn," says Cobb coldly. "It doesn't have the emotional depth or maturity of Yusuf's writing. He's also cocky as hell. Did you know that one time he told me he could buy the entire internet if he wanted?" Cobb scoffed. "I don't know why Saito is considered a BNF of this fandom. Hell, even I could write better than Saito."

I feel like what I essentially did here was quote your entire fic at you ._. But it's just that good. I love the dialogue, the humor, and every line was just gold dust. Absolute gold dust ♥

I like it so much I'm reccing it to everyone and their uncle D:

And reading it again and again and again.

I just really love Cobb's line (the one I quoted above) and his helplessness when he says, "I used to. I...I can't anymore." Oh, the conflicted expression! dfsfkjlkj

Mem'ming definitely.

LOL, gratuitous pet names don't make me click the back button immediately, but when it's in every line of dialogue I'm just like, "Really, guys? >.<"

I realized I cut myself midsentence there, haha. Fail!

Same, actually. And I agree with the epithets although I don't really mind as long they're evenly distributed. I just "lol" at the screen when they pop out every now and then. brb filling your prompts using epithets and pet names

To me, epithets are a POV issue, which is something I feel like I'm hyper aware of while I'm reading and writing. I have all of these ~theories and metaphors about using POV, and I will spare you, but basically I think that if you are writing from one character's POV, even if it is pulled back and 3rd person, then epithets are only used correctly if the POV-person does not know the epithet's name. Otherwise it is just really jarring to me and can take me out of the fic. So every time Arthur calls him "the forger" in fic, I just think WTF HE DOES NOT CALL HIM "THE FORGER" IN HIS HEAD. Ugh, I have so much irrational rage about this. >.< I am going to stop talking now laksjd and dies, yes please do this! laksjd

I HATE EPITHETS. I want to stab them all in the face. >.< Apparently I just needed an outlet for my rage, and so this fic was born. >.>
