Well the Shattered Crystal meeting went well tonight.....
Brought up my proposal for Crystal Ball 26 as old business and things where voted on..... Nobody in the group came up with any ideas to counter mine and I was the only one who voted NO on me doing the event.
Then came the budget for the event...........
I hear from a laural in our group "It's okay it's Kat and Perry...they pinch pennies so tight doing events that Lincoln screams." Along with her vote of confidence the group passed the budget without any kind of fuss.
I am worried about the way the economy and job loss might effect Crystal Ball this year so we are having things in the same site as the last few years. This way there is an idea already on what the cost of the site will run us for the event. I love having this much lead time for planning an event of this size and importance.
I think I am going to have a Crash Steward and a map for the rooms people can crash in. We'll do a kind of sign in sheet so people can bunk with friends and not wake up groups of strangers. I am also thinking back to the old days of the SCA and sleeping in peoples living rooms or guest rooms for crash space. I really think it might be time to drag that old concept back out for friends and people we know that will respect the "rules of Salt".
From the discussion so far with the Steward of decorations ideas and concepts are in place and the halls will look a bit nicer than last year. Instead of soda bottles and plastic tablecloths and dungeon wall....Banners, windows, cloth walls and painted backdrops.
Dupo Sugarloaf Township hall will be getting rented for the fighters.......but I am sure since I have billed this as a Russian Winter Revel it will be 70 and sunny the day of the event....LOL
