[Any Luceti residents in the centre of the village are likely to notice a splash as a giant furry New Feather is ungracefully dropped into the fountain.

The victim of this event is not all too happy about his condition.]

Wha-water-GUH!

[At first he thinks this may have been some reckless move on his servants' part in which he was somehow pushed in ( Read more... )

[Riku knows that beast... Oh, he definitely knows him.

This is the same beast he attacked for the sake of Maleficent. The same beast who ended up helping Sora after he'd taken away the Keyblade.

Fortunately, Riku's been through enough that he's no longer the same brat he used to be. So, he'll be carefully approaching Beast, not even the slightest bit repulsed by his appearance.]

Looks like you had a rough landing.

[This cautious yet cool-tempered approach towards Beast concerns him, almost as if this guy knows what he's like.

Okay, yes, he is pretty scary-looking, but this guy doesn't seem very interested in his looks... no, this attitude makes him feel a tad uncomfortable.

Would it really be safe to respond? What does one say to such a statement anyway? Probably best to shrug it off.] ... I'm fine.

If you say so.

[He shrugs and glances around.]

Not like you're the first to land in the fountain. Guess it's better than the forest, though.

[Good to know that he's not the first... but he'll bet most of them weren't big and furry, so he probably still stood out much more.

Enh, he has a forest at home anyway that he's had no problem with, but he's not going to say that. He's just going to do his Beast version of a shrug... which is pretty much looking awkwardly off into another direction.]

Anyway, I'm guessing you're new around here.

[Since... obviously he's right in the middle of the fountain.

Well, Riku's gonna scoop up his journal.]

In that case, you might want to keep this with you. Trust me; it'll come in handy.

[... Keep a book? It'll come in handy? Books seem to do him more harm than good, you know.

Skeptical expression, because he doesn't believe you.]

[He sees that expression and isn't too surprised, really.]

It's a communication device. Helps people keep in touch around here.

[... You can talk to people with books? Well no wonder Beast's social life sucks.

Isn't that convenient.

Grumble, then Beast will snatch the book from you before you can tell how incompetent he is with these things.]

[... Pfff. That's actually kinda funny, but Riku will hold his laughter. No need to anger this guy.]

Some people write in them, but all you really have to do is talk. It'll record what you say so others can hear it.

[... Really? You can talk through a book and others would hear you? No one ever told him that! Why didn't they say so?]

Show me.

Got it.

[Here, he'll take out his journal and flip to a random page. And, ta-da, someone's misc voiced entry should play!]

[...

Amazing.

That seems so... simple.

This would've saved so much previous awkwardness!

Don't mind Beast, Riku, he's just staring in awe at this piece of technology he never knew could exist.]

[Oh, he doesn't mind. Riku figures it's pretty jarring to most people; heck, even he had trouble grasping the idea of a talking book at first.]

Most people think the journals are magic. Either that, or advanced technology. Still, they've got their uses.

[Beast's going to now examine his own journal curiously, turning it over a little before opening it to hopefully get the same result. To his luck, it does. ... The Beast is definitely going to be fascinated by this for a while.]

[Nothing wrong with a little fascination. It's kinda funny to watch, actually, but he'll refrain from laughing.]

Some people prefer writing in it, but it's not required. Definitely easier to just talk and let the journal do the rest.

[Much easier! This may not be so hard for Beast after all!]

How do I... [talk into the journal? But Beast has never been good with puzzle-piecing words.]
