[Any Luceti residents in the centre of the village are likely to notice a splash as a giant furry New Feather is ungracefully dropped into the fountain.
The victim of this event is not all too happy about his condition.]
Wha-water-GUH!
[At first he thinks this may have been some reckless move on his servants' part in which he was somehow pushed in

[And she stops because she's noticed what, exactly, made the splash. She's not going to stare much. Don't be mad. Just...what?] Wow, people really do land in the fountain here.
[When he shakes himself off, Charlie shields herself, cringing away from deluge part two. It's then that she notices the book at his feet. She points at it, speaking.] I think that belongs to you.

With a lowered head slightly turned towards her, he mutters just loud enough that she can hear:] Um... sorry.
[He'd probably be desperately thinking now about what a prince is supposed to do when they've soaked a girl, but the last statement is much too distracting, and he finally sees the journal.
A book? His? Very funny.] No, it... it's not mine.
[He really wonders why she'd be thinking about some obscure thing lying on the ground when she's probably getting cold from the wetness, but... grr, he should really be doing something about that, shouldn't he.]

[She shrugs slightly, looking at the Beast again.] And don't worry about me being soaked. I was going to try to go swimming later, anyway.
[Pause. Pause. Awkward pause.] I'm Charlie. Welcome to Luceti, I guess.

[Wait, she's not mad? Really? He... wasn't quite expecting that response, so he'll just sort of look off over here and...] Uh... [Alright? Sure? Where are you, words?]
[Introductions. Not used to. Gah. Yeahum, he's a Beast, it's pretty obvious, so he'll just let that one slide. Second part more interesting.] Luceti?

[If he has wings, which she can't tell, she's going to wait until he notices them to explain that convoluted mess. Also? Why be mad at water when there are worse things to be upset about?]

Wait. Maybe this... nice enough girl is wrong.] ... You mean... I can't even get back... [... home? Well, granted it's just another prison, but it's still home.
And however slight a gesture she may have made towards his back, it's enough to make him wonder if... wait, where's that blue coming from? Something on his back?
A little feel behind and... oh god, what the devil?! He can't really turn around and see 'cause of his large back, but why is he feeling feathers attached to him?! Isn't he hideous enough?
Might be best to calm him down, Charlie, before he maniacally tries to rip the things off.]

[She's not even going to wait to make sure he's listening before she speaks and her tone is very alarmed. And a bit bossy but lets face it, this is a good reason to tell someone what to do.] I hear they're important. Like life-or-death important. If you lose feathers, you end up sick. If you lose a wing, you're in agony until it grows back and if you lose your wings entirely, you die. So don't touch them.
[A pause and then.] Do you have a name?

He knew the Enchantress was unmerciful, but wasn't the beast thing enough? This... is totally not what he intended to do in the morning.
He was going to give a gift to his guest - someone who could've potentially saved him from this curse - and now none of that's possible. He's stuck with no way out.
Charlie will see some sorrow sort of seep into Beast's body as all of this comes together in his mind. He will respond to her question after a minute or two.]
I... [lowers head, eyes closed] I'm just a Beast.

I hear rumors that people vanish sometimes and it's assumed they go home. [She smiles briefly.] That's what I like to hope, anyway.
[She's seriously not about to break any other news to him.] There's a Welcome Center. They should have more information for you.

Maybe he's not so hopeless.
He looks up at her, mostly bewildered 'cause of what she just did, but also inquisitive... at least as inquisitive as he could be. Could he really go back? Would Belle still be there? Would it be too late? He obviously doesn't know, but... at least this Charlie person... doesn't mind? Cares? He's appreciative anyway.]
Where is this... "Welcome Center"?
