2nd Petal | [Voice]/[Action]
[After a long-winded process of reaching the Welcome Center by the end of his first day, getting settled in one of their rooms, and finally getting his clothes, Beast has been staying in his very-unfamiliarly-tiny room just... brooding and trying to make sense of his fate. He's still perfectly convinced that he ended up here because the Enchantress gave up on him and simply put the rose out of its misery early, and knowing that you're going to be a big ugly furry monster forever... is a lot to take in. So he's been spending a good week hiding away wallowing.
The other half is making sense of where on earth he is now and how to make sense of it. His only current knowledge besides what the greeters on his first day told him is from observing random passersby through his window (which at least make him feel a little less out of place... sort of), and trying - with all his might - to read those pages full of words in his journal. 'Cause he has a suspicion they have a lot to tell him.
So that, and his having yet to test this magical talking feature in his journal, will be what motivates him to finally turn a new page, gulp slightly, and then press the button at the top.
Luceti residents will hear a few seconds of silence before a gruffy voice says tentatively:] ... Is it working?
[He's never had any experience with such advanced technology, anywhere, so he's just going to hope that he is right and say his piece.]
I... [oh right, the talking part. Um, what would they expect him to say?] I... I don't think any of you know me, but... [oh no, what did he even start this for anyway? Think, think...
... More silence as he tries to figure out how to get his information without admitting to his problem.]
... This Luceti place... we... can't get out... but... [Are they all there for the same reason?]
... What is it? [This is followed immediately by him dropping the journal onto the floor and pushing it across the room... 'cause he feels extremely awkward about just doing that. The page is still open, though, so he's still available.]
[Then, once it's quite late into the night - sometime at around midnight - Beast will be finally leaving the Welcome Center to explore the village and the surrounding area on his own. He will be attempting to do this as secretly and as stealthily as possible so as to avoid people confrontations, but his bulky figure doesn't make him invisible. He'll be mostly just trying to acquaint himself with his current prison with minimal disturbance.]
