So THAT'S where you are. I wondered...

I find beaches are overrated. Some of that, no doubt, comes from my affinity for cooler, rather than warmer, climates; but more importantly, I have yet to be at beach (or, at least, at a good beach) where there weren't swarms of people constantly hovering around. People, people, everywhere, and not a-one who thinks. (Bloody "Rime of the Ancient Mariner". Stupid Coleridge and his laudenum. But I digress.)

Another problem with vacationing, in my experience, is exactly what you pointed out--the forced close proximity with people I don't always want to be near. Or usually want to be near, but that's not your concern right now, I'm sure. Even if your house-proper were the same size as your condo, you would (I imagine) still be able to find peace more readily here, due to the fact that your movements would be less restricted, and you would have a larger assortment of places from which to choose a site of solitude. Additionally, anywhere New Haven is probably much more boring/calm/empty than just about any spot in Florida--including the Everglades. As long as you don't mind the sound of trains, anyway.

The barf bag experience isn't really high on my list of things to see before I die. That's just not necessary.

At least you got veal out of this whole experience.

I still need to talk to you sometime, but I guess arrangements will have to be made later. What with you in FL and all.

Remember: find all the advantages inherent in your particular life, and then seize them. Isn't that the essence of capitalism? That, or "exploit your fellow man for a dollar". ::shrugs::
