I NEED HELP!

How do you put a header into the layout? Does anyone know? I'd appreciate any help you could give me.

p.s. I'm feeling quite productive on account of my five pages of Ch. 24 of OMF... There's hope that it will eventually get written after all!

Hey.

It depends on the layout style. For some free styles you can do it through customizations, but for most, you have a paid account in order to advanced customizations in the stylesheet. What style do you have? Let me see what I can find...

Well, I have a paid account, but I don't know how to make my own layout, so I'm just using one of the pre-made ones. And I haven't seen any hand-made layouts that I like (though, honestly, I haven't looked very hard).

Thanks for your help! I wish I knew more about computer-stuff. I'm basically useless when it comes to computers.

Yeah, it's complicated. I still am not an expert, but I learned how to work a few styles. So, you have a paid account, which will make it easier...can I ask, what is the name? Is it the boxer (no), component (no), er, I can try to guess tonight if you don't know. Or wait, I think it's one of the new ones, which might make it difficult. The new ones are full of bugs. I'll check it out online this evening (still at work) and try to get back to you! If there's a way, it's out there somewhere, it will probably take a few minutes.

Well, I don't mind changing it at all. In fact I only changed to this one last night because I was bored. If you have suggestions for something simple, let me know. Because simple is probably a good thing at this point.

Thanks for all your help! You're so sweet!

This one is so simple and pretty though!

Okay, but really, this might be just about the only one that you can't add a header. I searched high and low and I am beginning to think it isn't possible -- or rather, that it is, but you have to know some pretty advanced css coding to do it. Wah!

So...if you are set on a header and are willing to change, try The Boxer or Component. Those are neat style templates that you can add a header to. My journal is 3 Column, so I could show you how to do that one, ferveoproject is The Boxer. All three of these are simple enough to add a header to, provided the header is the right size.

I'm not really set on anything... especially if it's going to be more trouble than it's worth. It's not like I've even found a header that I like yet. SO.....

I like this layout and everything... but it's just kinda boring.

I think I'm just going to keep looking around and if I ever find something that I really like, I'll puzzle through this again.

I really appreciate all your help! Maybe if I find a header, I can ask you for those instructions?

Thanks again!!!

Cools! Let me know, maybe I can help. I've made banners too, so maybe I could do a custom banner for you this weekend if you don't find you like.

Man, I am super helpful today. :P

You sure are being helpful! I wish I could help somebody, but I don't know anything that anybody ELSE wants to know.

BUT... if you're ever wanting more information on the different types of zippers or buttons... Or want to know about the history of costume... I'm your gal!

Just don't ask me about computers or math. Or computers.

Okay, so I just realized that I'm helplessly ignorant. What's the difference between a header and a banner? Maybe I really want a banner...
