Terror Attacks

Jul 07, 2005 10:33

My sympathies go out to those affected by the terrorist attacks in London. I was deeply saddened by the news of the bombings, as I am sure many of you were, as well. I don't really know what to say to express my feelings, and I hope that this simple message conveys a semblance of my sympathy and sorrow at these events.

Glad to hear that you're back safely.

I, too, was really shocked when I turned on the news this morning before class. I just don't understand why someone would want to do something like that... On Sept. 11, I remember waking up in my dorm room and the tv was on. My roommate was still asleep and I think we must have fallen asleep while watching tv. But, in my sleepness, I didn't really understand what was playing. I remember thinking that we must have left a movie playing or something. It was all very surreal.

Today in class, I don't think that anyone knew about it. I told the people sitting around me what they had said on the news, and everyone was very shocked. Just as I was getting out of the car to walk into class, Tony Blair was going to make his speech and I was tempted to skip class to listen. I didn't, though.

The test went well, I think, for all my lack of studying. I've got the final tomorrow. Oh, I got my paper back and was very pleased to see the A at the top of my paper. Two of the people I sit with got D's... I don't know what I would do if I got a D on a paper. Drop out of school and rethink my reason for existing, probably. Apparently the professor wanted papers that were longer than he asked...

Okay, I'm not sure why I wrote so much here. Couldn't help myself, I guess. How are you settling back in to life in California? You are in California, right???

I'm glad to hear that that paper was appreciated! sounds like a prof who recognizes quality. that's always heartening to hear about.

yes, I'm back in California, Santa Barbara, to be precise! I shared my plane ride back with an actor from one of the new Star Trek series -- I haven't looked up his name yet, but it's the person who places the halogram Doctor. Well, when I mean share, I mean I saw him WAY up there in First class! :)

California-- geez, it's so fantastic to be back. I've spent nearly every available moment glued to J-bot with the Toof nearby! I just love my little family unit! I'd say more but then you'd have to scrap up the cheese from your keyboard!

well, that's all for now-- need more sleep!!!!

good luck on your test tomorrow!

I'm very glad to hear that your father is okay. It was a big shock and even though I'm not from London, I still felt hurt by the attacks. Things like this make the world seem like a much smaller place.
