(no subject)
- after court, my dad stopped at the Hyundai dealer down there to get yet another part and/or diagram to how o fix something on his car. we pulled into the parking lot and we hadn't even gotten out of the car yet when a well-dressed man came out in a coat with a big smile on his face. i say "dad look" and laughed. the man seemed extremely happy and more than desperate to sell a car (lol).
my dad asks for the parts department, saying how he doesn't want a new one, he wants to fix the crappy one he already has. we went through to the back and my dad got the information he needed (the part was not there). the inagurnation was on the fancy big screen tv in the 'lounge'. on the way out, my dad was hit up again, by anotother salesperson, about the lucrative trade-in incentives. my dad said in no uncertain terms, "i'm never buying one of your cars again."
thinking back on it, other than it was amusing as fuck, is the expense payed out for all this fanciness, not to mention eight or so employees, when they're lucky to sell a few cars a day. the cheapest one on the showroom was $18,000 and change, the most expensive was $36,000 and change. my dad bought his new in 2003(ish) and it was $12,000.
- so, there's bedbugs in the building. i don't have them, but the landlord is having the whole building done just to be safe. so. i'm supposed to clean out the closets, the dressers, strip the beds, did i mention emptying closets? as in, the huge one in my bedroom packed full? and empty the cabinets. but ugh the closets! i'm piling everything in the middle of my bedroom and covering it with a sheet (like i did with the kid's stuff). not that the sheet is going to stop the chemichals, and/or the bedbugs which may or may not be present. i know they're not, i mean, you can see the little fuckers. and i've not had any bites. but whatever.
i need to stash my cat on my neighbour's back porch for the day, so i have to bring over the cat and her litter box and her food and a blanket for her to lay on, because it'll be pretty cold out there. and my plants, i'm putting those on the overhang of the window downstairs, right outside my own window, if that makes any sence. then i get to see the shrink. busy day.
