Modern website layouts

It's probably been at least 3 years since I last changed my LJ layout.  Not that it really matters since most people read through their feeds anyways(??), but I really do like this new layout I chose.  Actually, it's been so long that I don't even know if this is a "new" LJ layout or not, but I like that it seems to have that more simple, modern ( Read more... )

Haha, I'm slowly dying on LiveJournal, too. I only go on here if I have something I really can't keep to myself, or to look at how my friends are doing.

JQuery is really big these days because of how gigantic the tablet and mobile services marketing is. It provides websites with some functionality that keeps websites simplistic and organized. While I like how simple the websites look these days, I really miss the older look of websites before all that is implemented. It's just really confusing when everything is hidden under menus, not to mention it's harder to load on older computers.

I'm pretty much an oldie. I like coding websites but when I look at mine, I'm just like... "I'm so out of date LOL"

I realized I've been surfing the internet more often on my phone rather than on my computer, so I'm really happy for the new website look. When I look at older sites on my phone, I usually have to zoom way in and drag the screen around to see it properly. And then there's the annoying problem of fat-fingering it clicking a wrong link nearby... So I like the new look, as long as EVERY site doesn't end up using the exact same layout.

Yeah, I wish I could learn JQuery cuz it looks so cool...but unfortunately I don't have the time or patience anymore. ^^ And it looks like there are already-made templates out there for people to use...? I'd love to try out updating my old site too, but I just feel like I can't commit to adding enough new content to make a revamp worth it. :/
