With all the hooplah lately around the wars and crises that seem to have consumed the world of comic books, I thought this would be a good to take some time out and talk about a few comics that are free of all that. Books in their own little corners of their own little universes, and books that are worth reading. And with one exception, all of these comics are on their first issues.
