Last week, a kid who, out of 13 homework assignments had turned in 3, came to me to tell me that he didn't have his homework. BIG SURPRISE. Now before I go further, here is the school-mandated homework, and bear in mind that these are kids with learning differences: Math -- finish the sheet you work on in class....either the odds or the evens....and if you work fast enough, you have none. Reading -- read a book of your own choosing for 30 minutes a night and turn in a 9-sentence reading log (three summary, three reflection, three prediction). BAM. That's it ( ... )
