Overall, I liked the movie. I have now seen it a few times. This review contains spoilers.
On the first viewing I found it a little disjointed. Most of the people I've seen it with have felt the same. One person said it was because of all the little "personal moments" interspersed with the action. My response was, "in the first movie they did all the personal moments at the beginning and then moved forth with the action. Here we started with action and then had to slow down for the personal moments."
On my first viewing, both myself and the person I went with said, "oh thank god" at the same moment when we saw the broken shield and realized it was a dream (and yes, I do know that the shield gets broken a couple of times in the comics).
Clint Barton. So his family was a nice homage to one of the other Marvel comic universes --lets hope his family fairs better in the MCU than it did there.
Captain Rogers. Language. Okay, I found that line funny and the fact that he said, "it just slipped out" seems like a Rogers thing. I know people were like, didn't X watch The Winter Soldier... for me it's really the fact that in the middle of a fight something old slipped out of his mouth without thought.
Banner and Widow. Sure. Whatever. I thought it was sweet. And dorky. :)
Scarlet Witch and Quicksliver. I'm leaving this alone for now.
The Vision. I will miss JARVIS (he's my co-pilot).
Stark. Building Ultron. Trying to protect the world while destroying it. Feeling like he could have done more to save his friends. Survivor's guilt. Yep, those all describe him.
The Infinity Stones/Gems. Space (tesseract/blue/Avengers). Reality (Aether/red/Thor2). Power (orb/purple/Guardians). Mind (scepter/yellow/Avengers2). This leaves orange and green... or the time and soul gems. [Note that the colors are different from the comics to the MCU.]
Other. I liked the hints at the next Thor movie. I liked the little mentions of Wakanda and where Howard got the metal/material to build Cap's shield. I liked that Theta Project (from Agents of Shield) was the Helicarrier... and once again the episode before and after the airing of the movie had references to the movie. I just wish Coulson had been on the Helicarrier, but prompts for the little guy who stood up to Crossbones in The Winter Soldier being part of the crew.
