All I can say is WOW. It was an absolutely amazing weekend. It felt like I had known them forever (there were no awkward silences). We did a late lunch on Friday then went to their hotel and we went swimming and then went to a late dinner. We spent all day Saturday at the Mall of America (we made matching Build Your Own Bears, went on two of the roller coasters, had an old time picture taken in 20's garb). They invited my hubby with and we all went to Outback on Saturday night. They want my DH, DS and I to come and spend a weekend with them in October.
There is no way to describe how I feel right now. Although I love my adoptive parents, it was nice to be with people like me... I know that seems weird to non adopted people, but there is just something about that blood connection. I am extremely lucky to have found them and to have met them.
Steph and I both have a verbal tic - we apologize to everything/everyone (I even apologize to walls if I bump into them).
Kathie (my birthmom) actually said "oh no, I thought 2 were bad and now there are 3 of them".
We all talk alike, we look alike, we think alike. I will post pictures later in the week (if I can figure out how to do it on LJ).
I'm still processing everything. But it was a totally amazing experience.
