IN order not to bore to much short story is:  I had a fibroid cyst, then four. Felt like crap, alot,  thought that perhaps they were connected and additionally felt like certain foods were effecting me. I could lose weight but not keep it off.....common I know but ......I felt like there was more to it. I saw several doctors of the western variety, quite useless unless you just want your symptoms to calm down and never know what caused it. Finally I went to a ayruvedic/allergist/western Doctor. We did a good deal to try and destroy the fibroids, in the process we tested me for food allergies. I ended up with a UAE Uterine Fibroid Embolization which before it is done has a recovery of 2-4 weeks after they tell you 2 months....go figure. Anyway shortly after I received results from my allergy testing. I'm allergic to: almonds, eggs, milk protein (casien) yeast brewers and bakers, pistachios, cashews, Tumeric, beets, yogurt and a slew of other things like deer and lima beans and blue cheese ( no big loss).....  So and heres the AH HAA moment. Probably following the Atkins diet was a big no no..... My diet was almonds in yogurt or eggs in the morning followed by meat and cheese at lunch and meat/cheese plus veggies at night, with the occasional piece of bread. HMMMMMM well no wonder
Now I'm on the elimination diet (very restricted) small amounts of certain meats and a ton of veggies plus a grapefruit a day.  16 days in 20 lbs gone and 14 days to go before I start adding things one a week to see if I respond.
oh yes, why is it so restricted for so long, well, apparently due to my inability to digest milk products, eggs and yeast and having been given a 10 day dose of major antibiotics I have an astronomical Candida infection so add no starch no sugar for at least thirty days.
Well enough of the bitching. I'm rather amazed at this process. I'm hungry but I feel much better. My body is having a hard time adjusting energy wise but I'm getting there. The goal is health, healthy weight life style.... you know the drill
