More on the Stock Market

This was originally a reply to a comment in my last entry. It came out long and thorough so I figured I would post it as a new entry instead. One of the reasons I think I would be good at the stock market is:

A) I LOOOVE technology, it's absolutely fascinating to me and while the idea of what the engineer did to overcome a difference of communications between a microprocessor and a camera sensor array doesn't interest me, what the phone does, why, how, and what it means on the greater scheme captivates me. With how the stock market practically revolves around tech stocks, I could probably go most of my life only dealing in tech (though that would be foolish).

B) I now have a strong engineering background which allows me to understand the finer minutia with which the energy market (energy generation, part making, alternative energies, etc.), the auto market, the telco and mobile phone markets, the internet provider market, web sites and search engines function by. When I go to get my masters in business (MBA or other), I will then have both the technical and business background and which will help me immensely.

Finally, C) I LOVE to research. Something about the hunting of information and the things you discover along the way, is a combination that will entertain me for hours (if I let it). The few times I've done it for work have been about the most enjoyable days that I've had there. I learned everything that I know about computers entirely from self research, I learned how to web design in high school from self research, I learned about weight lifting and it associated nutrition from self research. When it comes to the stock market research is probably the single most important aspect. You need to KNOW these companies and the internal/external forces that determine their success in the market (rational or otherwise). The things I don't know about the stock market and associated business influences I will love researching I'm sure.

On a side note, I know that human behavior has a huge impact on the fluctuations of the market. I would like to think that while I'm not in tune with my own emotions (also a good thing in the stock market), I understand human emotion and action/reaction very well.
