My 2009 resolutions were pretty simple: graduate with my Bachelors for electrical engineering and land a job. As a subset of the graduating, I wanted to up my GPA to a 3.2 (I had to work a lot my first 2 years of school, along with my competitive gaming made for a bad GPA). I came close to the 3.2 with a 3.1, but I did make the Dean's List my entire senior year with a 3.55 and 3.6 GPA each semester.
I landed a job. I was one of the few people of my graduating class who did. I would say only 30-40% of my graduating engineering class managed to land a job. A STARK contrast to the graduating class the year before us which was more in the 60% range.
All in all it was a good year for me. I'm extremely proud of my accomplishments and the hard work it took to achieve them.
This year my resolutions will be more difficult I suspect:
The biggie for me this year is to start my business OR get started on investing with maybe $3,000 in the market by years end.
Additionally, I want all my main debts paid off. This shouldn't be that hard as I only owe my dad 2 more $710 payments and have $1,700 left on my credit card. I should have my dad paid off the middle of next month. My credit card will be paid off, hopefully, by spring (March-April time frame).
Depending on my job situation (still working at my current employer and/or my own business, or a new company entirely and/or my own business), I may try to start up on a graduate degree. Considering what I am seeing of engineering, I am certain that it will be an MBA that I will strive for. If I start a business, then an MBA will be difficult and probably won't happen. If I am still working my current job, then an MBA. If I am not working my current job or my own business, then it's up in the air on the grad degree.
Then, I would like to try surfing. I've waited all my life for this one. I'm living in the right part of the country (well close enough, lol), I have the money, my job allows for the appropriate time off. I just gotta buy the gear, do a little driving, and proceed to make an ass of myself XD
Finally, I would like to hit the 200lbs (91kg) weight mark. This is the weight I believe will achieve the results I want. If that point is sooner, then all the better. Once I've achieved the look I want, I can work out to maintain and gain in strength. I am currently at just shy of 170lbs (77kg), up from the 135lbs (61kg) I had been since I was 15. Working out is far easier than it was in college as the gym is just as accessible, completely free, and I can now afford to eat the way I need to to get the nutrients I need to gain muscle.
There's a lot on my plate this year. I'm confident.
