It was the writers I wanted to wack with a spoon. There were several instances where I don't think they considered the characters, who the characters were talking to, and the actual consequences of the actions characters took, because they wanted something to make the narrative coherent.

Like Dean's distrust of Martin was solely based on his institutionalization, despite the fact that his brother and best friend had also been institutionalized (arguably when they were further gone), and he was talking to said brother.

Like Sam just leaving without telling anyone, despite being really adamant about innocent lives the scene before. From the end, I guess he just expected Dean to handle it, but that completely ignores the force/passion of their argument. If he was just going to trust Dean (and I guess Martin) to handle it, then they really overplayed the importance of cuffing Dean to a radiator.

Like Dean bothering to send that text to Sam when he was going to be with Benny the whole time. Did he expect Sam to just go through him to kill Benny? I legitimately don't see the point of that text at all.

Like Dean apparently having a text like that at the ready, completely unprovoked. Just...really? I don't think they considered how much meaner it being planned for a while would reflect on Dean at all.

So I'm a bit frustrated, as you can see lol.
