Happy New Year! Every year I do this fic meme to sort of keep track of my writing and stuff and things. :)
December 08 meme : Word count - 120,639
December 09 meme : Word count - 54,496
December 10 meme : Word count - 38,050
December 11 meme: Word count - 75,529
OH HAI! A decided uptick in productivity! *highfives self* In last year's meme I did not count my co-written fic, Unbreakable, towards my personal word count because I wrote kinda sorta half of it maybe or something. This year, about 55k of my total word count is a co-written fic as well, but I'm counting every single word because
blacklid and I have written, re-written, and edited that thing about 8 trillion times apiece and I have every single word memorized, so I earned it. As such, that will probably be the answer to a lot of this year's questions, even though I usually try not to repeat answers. Let's find out.
My favorite story this year (of my own):
Of my own, I really like
Light Will Guide You Home.
My best story this year:
I always tend to lean toward my episode tags, and I can't pick from the three of them, so I'm going to pull one out of a hat. *closes eyes*
Monstrous. (Ok so this really was a random answer, but I will say I do think it's rather good. Heh.)
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Definitely
No Way Back. Not to complain, as I don't REALLY expect anyone to launch into a 57k WIP without knowing if we will ever finish it (we will though, we are about 20k into the ending), but in over 6 months and over 1000 hits, not ONE single comment except for our beta? Fail, fandom. OCs and minor characters need love, too. Also it's not like it's not all about Sam and Dean anyway, I mean - isn't everything? Psh. Y'all should trust me more than that. :P
Most fun story:
Post Op. Just a little Bobby/Sheriff Mills drabble, I love the two of them. :)
Most suspenseful story:
Repo Men: The Upside-Down Apocalypse. I was trying to finish the next chapter before Jan 1, but it looks like it will post next weekend instead. It, uh, sort of ends on a cliffie as of now. Sorry, Sam. *wince*
Story with single sexiest moment:
No Way Back, Blake/Gwen, book 2, part 2.
He groaned in spite of himself and buried his head into her shoulder, breathing in the subtle scent of her shampoo. He could sense her smile when she broke the silence. “So, when you said that you’re connected …” Blake’s fingers intertwined with hers reflexively. He moved his free hand lower and gripped her bare thigh, warm beneath the blanket, and pulled her even closer. She laughed softly, mischievous delight rolling across the scant inches between them.
Story with single sweetest moment:
Light Will Guide You Home, Sam/Sarah
You feel the bed dip slightly as she settles down beside you. You draw her close, and she rests her head against your chest. She smells like Chanel. She glows softly, her light closer and stronger to you than the others; the nearest star in an infinite universe of souls.
Most unintentionally *telling* story:
The American Dream. It's so overt it's covert.
"Holy crap, that's *wrong*, even for you" story:
Most likely
the most recent chapter of Repo Men. Sorry, Sam. *wince*
Most disappointing story:
Every year I say I don't post stuff I'm disappointed in. Next year I think I'll delete this question. Pointless.
Hardest story to write:
No Way Back. Blood, sweat and tears, I tell you. And fighting, lots of fighting between everyone involved, lol. Forged in the fires of Mount Doom. Heh.
Easiest story to write:
If You Need Me, Don't Look For Me Here. I got the prompt and it just *poofed* into existence. Also I love that one. Sorry, Sam. *wince*
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most:
This year I took my life back. Went back to school, quit my job, traveled - I don't think I slept at all, and I have been so crazy busy I have really neglected a lot of fannish things, but it is paying off and it has all been worth every second.
I spent the better part of the year writing
No Way Back with
blacklid and even though sometimes we wanted to kill each other (inorite!?) it has been (so far) an awesome experience in really finding out if I can actually write or not, lol. Blake owns a little part of my soul now, and even once his story is over I know I'll never forget him. <3
